“I’d rather die lonely than be with her of all people” he growled loudly, a frown evident on his face.
Sage rushed into the room while breathing heavily.
“ what’s wrong ? “ he asked Shawn with a confused look on his face.
“The alpha just found his mate,” Shawn said, and a surprised look and a smile crept onto Sage’s face.
“ That’s good news , we should celebrate that. That means the clan has a Luna “ He said with a smile on his face
Devile growled at the word “Luna” making Sage flinch and bow in respect.
“The clan has no Luna and there won’t be a Luna if it has to be her,” he growled, stopping his wolf from taking control of his body.
He cast her unconscious body one last glance before walking out of the room angrily, he banged the door hard.
“She’s the Luna?” Sage asked with shock evident on his face, pointing his finger at her.
Shawn nodded and also heaved a sigh of relief before walking out.

Shayla woke up from the knock on her door, she sniffed as she stood up from the bed.
Her body ached like she had been knocked down, she remembered being strangled before falling unconscious.
She rolled her eyes.
She winced as she touched her neck , she stood up holding the wall for assistance as she felt lightheaded.
She faced the large human-sized mirror , her hair was disheveled.
She blows her hair out of her mouth before roughening her hair more with her finger.
She lifted her neck a little bit to get a closer look at her neck.
“Son of a gun” she cussed silently before hissing.
“ I’ll be the death of you, I’ll destroy you for causing me pain, red and silver-eyed demon” she said silently as her eyes turned firm and serious.
The knock came once again on the door, jolting her out of her thoughts.
“ Gosh, if it’s that silver eye monster I’m gonna rip his neck and pluck out his eyes” she said in a low voice to avoid being heard as she placed her hands on the doorknob about to open it before she changed her mind.
“Who’s that?” She asked as her hands remained on the doorknob waiting for a reply.
“ It’s Sage “ A strong, thick voice replied outside making her shiver a little bit.
“What do you want ? “ she asked with an eye roll.
“I’d like to deliver a message from the alpha, open your door” his voice calm yet carrying a disastrous warning with it.
She turned the doorknob and opened the door slowly while peeping carefully to know what the person looked like before opening the door
The door opened fully revealing Sage with a straight hardened face with two maids behind him.
She moved back gesturing for them to enter with her hand.
They entered the room fully.
Sage’s stern and straight face terrified her but also made her smile.
“ wow he’s so handsome” she thought as her lips curved into a little smile
“ But not as handsome as the monster, you know right?” Her inner thought interrupted her making her roll her eyes.
Sage cleared his throat making her concentrate on him.
She cleared her throat and straightened her black bodycon gown.
“How may I help you?” She asked while looking straight into his eyes.
Sage scoffed making her roll her eyes.
He signaled to the maids behind him and they walked to her and stretched a black cloth over her.
She scoffed before speaking.
“The monster thinks some sorts of clothes can stop me from getting angry or make me feel less angry towards him after strangling me ?, Tell him he’s a clown” she said angrily.
Sage smirked.
He collected the clothes from the maids then threw them at her she grabbed them before they landed on her face.
“ You do not have a choice and you do not speak to the alpha in such a manner. You’ll start working with the maids with immediate effect. This message is from the alpha” he said calmly while glaring at Shayla.
“ wha… what ? Me? A maid? He must be joking” she said while fuming in anger, she dropped the clothes on the ground and stepped on it.
Sage moved closer to her closing the gap between them making her lose her breath.
“ you do not have a choice and like the alpha said , he said if you dare drop the clothes on the floor in anger you’ll have to move to the maids quarter. You shouldn’t have done that, you should know better than to be a brat here your highness “ he said mockingly and walked out.
The maids glared at her and walked out but not without a scoff.
Shayla stood frozen in shock in a spot.
