Chapter Ten: Vacation And Relation.

He was famishing to expiry when awaken from the deep slumber. His day two was already done and made himself to nearby restaurant for breakfast on the third day. Why am I starving? He asked himself as he didn’t felt same while enduring more than months in the field. It was a satirical nature of mindset which makes difference with the situation and responsibility. Human mind defines what actually inner feeling yearns for. Within few minutes, the waiter was already by his side.

“Here is your set, sir. Enjoy it” the waiter was full with respect. Lobzang noticed a vast alteration with hospitality in decades of year, then. Lobzang dug into the steaming sumptuous meal hastily. He completely forgot the other companion around and realized that everyone was watching him by the end of first share. He could not wait for the extra rice and made himself out from the restaurant. Half-filled, he was just walking by an enormous screen in an open area, connecting the globe.

World Broadcasting Service (WBS) in Bhutan was updating any news and things going around the world. The monitor hung in the air was talking about the election and commotion happening in United States of America. World Broadcasting Service was five years old news outlet organization winning top ten popularity around the sphere. It was well known, fast, reliable and authenticated broadcasting networks in the world besides British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) in London.

It was only during the vacation that Lobzang walk the life without any plans, worries and make a time for his dear ones. He didn’t want to even waste single second of his recess hour, which was once in the blue moon. He made up his mind to take a journey to his hometown. Though the flight would take nearly little more than twenty minutes to reach down, he decided to take his car. He didn’t call and visited her for more than years.

He got into his Land Rover deserted for years unattended. It was fully covered with dust but it does not concern him anymore. He kick started the engine and was elated upon his first trail with bursting locomotive rigorous. He made twist and turn through crest and trough landscape taking pleasure in the splendor matching calmness. Even the speedy globalization in Bhutan on no occasion compromises the surroundings.

However, the road were double the size with networks of air road system with an increase number of traffics. Further, the two days journey was shorten by a day saving lots of time. Lobzang had a great day with striking memories culminating harmony in the heart and tranquility in the mind. Mother was already wearing new feeble physique and complete dimension. He felt sorry for not visiting her oftentimes.

As expected, mother was digging out with silence for years. On the one hand, order from higher ups doesn’t allow him to share the nature of job. Lobzang could not find any solution than to mask behind his real task in the field. They had a joyful moment exchanging thoughts after so many years. The taste of meals were nothing different and was one of the best meal to him. Even without side dishes, Lobzang was content to have a meal from her hand.

Lobzang neither wants to go back from her nor could take with him. Only thing he could do was to make a time to spend more with her. Most of the time, they would be basking in the sun bringing out every thoughts and talks. One day, mother was coming up with talk about his love-life. As a mother, she expects to see her son becoming father. “You are turning twenty five next year and aren’t you ashamed without one” mother was looking in a distance and continued, “Better late than never”

That night was lingering for him with words from the mother. He could not imagine to compromise his job due to relation. Nonetheless, nobody should get hurt because of him. He was same before decades with relation and was same at that moment too. The controversy with job and relation was hard to gnaw and come into conclusion. However, he picked an idea to connect back with his high school girlfriend. He does not have anyone in his mind beside her.

He skimmed and skipped every social media trying to connect her. There wasn’t any positive outcomes after two days also. As a final possibility, he nagged his friend Dechen to look into her whereabouts and what’s who has completed his MBBS course and got placement as specialist at Washington, USA. After non-stop plague, Dechen promised to find her and contact back soon as they are from same hamlet.

Lobzang readily thanked in advance and bid each other. His mind got distracted with thousands of questions without even single solutions. What should I say? My reaction if she was married? My silence for years? Reason for contact? Every questions was making him shake in terror. For him, operations in the field was stress-free compared to the relationship. Even with those, he was ready to connect her once.

Lobzang got negative picture without any response from his friend Dechen. It was already three days. He bid mother best night after supper. He wasn’t sure of anything making mad. He was killing time aimlessly with phone. He tried every means to look for someone same like her in Face book but didn’t won his heart. Doomed with several trials, he forced him to take a sleep. With something in the mind, he was able to sleep only by midnight.

The sun was already down touching the whole place. He was just getting monotonous with the life and woke up, melancholy. He unquestionably wants to talk to his friend who is miles away. Lobzang swept to his phone and his attention was grabbed by one notification. No, it was not notification but text from his friend Dechen. It was not assured of progressive one, yet he unwrapped the text and jumped into the air yelling. Mother was rushing with protruding eyes worried towards him.

Lobzang was stunned realizing that mom was near, hardly catching breath. The tensed face of the mom got glibber on sighting him beaming with wide smile. She went back without even single words to get set with brunch for him. He could not wait to add her in Watsapp and yes she was there. He could not say anything but got away with normal chit chats. He was not in the position to share his mother’s wishes to her.

Mother got him brunch and was deeply engrossed into the phone. “What was so interesting with day start?” mom questioned him. “Nothing mom, is just something….will share you later” he made it short without even taking his eye off the phone. Tenzin wangmo was doing great as an officer at south after her graduation from Thailand. He felt same color from her even without contact for long duration. Lobzang covered himself with his living at that moment without even giving outlook about his nature of profession.

He even forgot to take meals and knew only after mother’s arrival after an hour. Tenzin told him of her office stuffs to be completed and call him later. He was really thankful and ended with quite calmness. He didn’t took meal and started predicting her life. He said himself, she had been single or flirting. No, she wasn’t a type to seduce. If she has husband, she won’t make time for me. What could be reason? He wasn’t sure but got carried away.

In spite of those doubts, he primed with plan like in his job to enquire by evening. If everything comes up to expectations, he was ready to answer his mom with the surprise and fulfill her awaited wishes. Despite relationship giving him lower hand, he was not a type to upset his mother. The day was busy with mental preparation to combat Mother Nature law between opposite s*x. He took it as mission of his life holding utmost significance.

That particular day was so long waiting for her text and he was left without single meal that day. He joined his mother for supper and make it short by leaping back to his room. He checked his phone battery and was glad with maximum charge. To his dismay there was neither text nor call after hours also. His hope got shattered but decided to wait longer before texting her first. He didn’t touch his phone fearing consumption of battery, which would abridge time between them, later.

He was almost half-asleep dreaming about his time with her. His lethargy got awaken with sudden buzz. He shook his head driving somnolence away and was more energized on confirming her number. The real mission starts then for Lobzang. He took the call and they came to decision, to text. Her voice was fluttering his heart, making him forget everything around. It was the same feeling ensued back in 2018 while he was departing from Paro International Airport.

Lobzang wants to be a first one to text, so with everything affirmative, he texted her first. There came a prompt reply from her too. She was sorry for making it late as she was busy with dinner and some household chores. The time was only 8:00 pm and Lobzang knew he was just expecting so early, then. He knew she was as same as before. She does not make anyone get hurt, which was main reason for Lobzang, sticking to her till date.

Even after hours of text in-between, Lobzang was not confident enough to ask her about her relationship status. The time was already welcoming another day and both of them were deeply rooted into deep conversations. Finally, when they were about to bid each other for the night, Lobzang asked her with much fear. For next five minutes, there wasn’t any reply from her. His mind got blank with negative instincts from her.

Somehow, Lobzang got doomed taken aback to the words from his mother. As felt, she told him that she even got a first child. He was speechless and didn’t knew anything to say but he wished her a happy and hopeful life, congratulating her first child. The same question got reciprocated to him and he told without even one till date. It became a moment of suspension for Lobzang and was more complicated to think about his future. They came to an end for the day wishing each other a best nights.

Lobzang was hardly into the sleep with mind ragging sorts and thoughts. He even wasn’t thinking of anything in particular and didn’t knew when he was into the sleep that night. His hope and trust for his life had been shattered into pieces, ultimately leaving his mother’s crave, unattended. There was nobody other than her in his mind and his expectations turns out to be completely not the same. Next morning, he woke up early to help his mother than to long for the one, which would never came true.

It was by then midday, when he took his phone and skimmed through it. For his disclosure, tons of message were standing still for his respond. It was from his girlfriend covering everything last night as anecdote which wasn’t true. Tenzin had been single and was confessing her feelings that moment. Lobzang was annoyed for making him distressful but happy on the one side, that she still got a place in her heart. They were over head to heels with everything on their way and potentials.

The fifteen days’ vacation for Lobzang got over with another half month for Captain Dragon to return back. He wants to make wonderful time with his near and dear ones. Therefore he asked his girlfriend for outing to India as their first date. There went a tremendous round between them and concluded with one week time hangout after much incongruities and hurdles. Lobzang was over the hill for it would be his first date.
