“Would you want to keep him?” I asked finally. “Oh, Glory of the Lord, if dere was any way I could. I wish dat I could,” she said. “Problem is, I ain’t kin, and I can barely afford to keep myself.” Suddenly, an idea came into my head, a different kind of idea.
