Chapter 21 Chapter 21 Clara and I got back to Nashville late in the day. We first stopped at the office, where I unloaded Clara’s luggage from the trunk of the rental into her own car. She then followed me to the rental place to turn in the car and drove me back to the office to get my own vehicle. By the time I got home, it was already dark. I parked as usual and came in through the kitchen adjacent to the garage. Since it was late, and the children might have already been put to bed, I didn’t call out to Alissa as I usually would.
