No sooner had I uttered the words than I heard voices outside. Frantic, I folded the paper up and stuffed it into the inside pocket of my jacket. I quickly threw everything else back into the tackle box and put it back under the boards of the corn bin. Then I rushed back through the two boards I had pulled up from between the corn bin and the hayloft. As I came through, I snagged my jeans on a rusty nail and ripped a small hole. I quickly pulled the jeans loose and rushed across the hayloft, back over into the milking stall. All the while my heart was pounding like my secret was going to be found out.
