“Well, if it is not likely,” I said, “I would really prefer not to have you touch me there.”
“Understood,” Dr. Carter replied. “Then we are pretty much through with the exam except for lab work and a few questions. I will just document that you refused those more intimate examinations. I’ll also ask Carl to get you some instructions on how to examine your own testicles. Please let me know if you find anything unusual.”
“I’m not refusing,” I said. “I just don’t want to do it. If you think you have to do it, I can submit to it.”
“Why should you have to submit to something you don’t want to do?” he asked.
“Well, if it is required, I can do it,” I mentioned.
“Mr. Dennison, it’s okay.” He smiled. “You don’t have to do it if you don’t want to.”
I gave a nervous smile in return.
