Everyone seemed thrilled with the screen test when it came back. It was strange seeing myself on film—just one more thing I had never before experienced. My sermon at Evangelic Temple also went well. By the end of the week, I found myself sitting with attorneys, signing contracts that I did not understand but signed anyway. When a little over a week and a half had passed, Wanda took me around town to locate an apartment that Mr. Clayburn would initially pay for out of ministry funds. Then, she took me home to get the remainder of my possessions so I could move to Nashville.
The mood around home was a mixture of joy that I was going to be getting my own TV show and sadness that I was going to leave. Momma vacillated between crying and telling me how proud she was. D
