A Week Left

In a well furnished sitting room, Jerry Baron had a visitor his best friend Shedrach. They were talking about business when his friend suddenly asked " what's up with your step brother, Jess".

"Hmmm..the last time I checked, no wife yet" Jerry replied.

"Do you think he will pull through before your dad dies" Shedrach asked.

" In as much as I don't want to underestimate him, I don't think he is going to get married before or even after dad's death". Jerry says with confidence.

" Come on man, why are you so sure? Shedrach asked.

" Jess has a vile temper" Jerry says.

Shedrach shook his head and smiled. "he is filthy rich and that's what every woman wants" Shedrach says.

"No woman can stand Jess temper" Jess said.

"Last I checked, he doesn't lack women in his life". Shedrach smiled while talking.

Jerry raised his brow with mocking tone," more like his bed, you mean".

"What is the difference" Shedrach said jokingly.

"A lot of difference, s*x is not love. The only woman he has ever loved in his life is his late mother, no woman can ever stand Jess if she doesn't love him" Jerry said with a serious face.

"Well, since you ate so sure about it then you don't need to worry about the inheritance. please I need a drink, where is your wife. Rose ..wifey ..Shedrach called Jerry's wife jokingly.

Rose came from the kitchen with smile on her face,' hello, welcome'. the smile faded from her face when she felt her husband glaring at her. She felt uncomfortable and Shedrach noticed the fear in her eyes. she immediately went back to the kitchen.

" Jerry, do you still hit your wife" Shedrach asked Jerry with a stern face.

"Hey, stay the hell away from my marriage". Jerry warned Shedrach. Shedrach was shocked with his attitude.

" You are my friend and....

Jerry immediately cut him off while he was still speaking.

" I think you have over stayed your welcome, that's the door" Jerry said.

"Seriously" Shedrach asked

"Leave". Jerry said

Shedrach stood up from his seat, leaving towards the door but still turned back towards Jerry and said " stop beating your wife, it's not nice and you can be persecuted if reported ". Then he left.

Sandra was preparing to leave her house for skynet company because they called her for the oral interview, she had passed the written interview. while walking toward towards the corridor, close to her parent's room, she had her mom crying.

She opened the door and went in. Sandra sat close to her mom, consoling her. " Don't cry mom, we will find a solution "

"But how my dear? it's remaining a week. Because of your dad's gambling our house worth of 60 million will be gone because of 20 million" Grace cried out.

"It's okay mom, please don't cry. I will have to be going now before am late for the interview" Sandra said standing up from the bed, then left the room.
