Episode 3 - First Stage, First Challenge

After all that had happened, Gomis Father MR David’s thought with time Gomis will lose interest in football because of his disabilities, but the love for football keeps growing in Gomis mind, that throughout his holidays he would either be found playing football with friends or found in a football field watching soccer, this made Gomis Father rethink and think if truly Gomis is made for football he should give him a chance at least and if he is not he would go with his own option of becoming a lawyer, this made Mr David’s Register him (Gomis) in a Para-Soccer Football Academy in Mar del Plata, Provincia de Buenos Aires, Argentina.

It was on the 8th of August (Gomis Birthday), so Gomis father Mr David’s had a very special Gift for Gomis as a birthday gift, He called Gomis out that very morning and told him he had to follow him somewhere and he should go in and pack some of his stuff like cloth and others, Gomis thought they were relocating, (although Mrs David’s has gone to the market to make an early morning sales because it was on a Saturday she is not preparing Gomis for school or making an early morning food for her husband to take to his workplace, she only had to make food for the family on weekends and go to market) so Gomis was unable to ask her mother what was going on when his father asked him to pack his stuffs, he had no choice than to pack his stuffs as instructed by his father. Gomis and his father went to the nearest motor pack to board a car going to Mar del Plata, Provincia de Buenos Aires. The journey took them approximately 9hours from Rosario to Mar del Plata, Gomis who had never been on such long journey before was tired during the journey because of the bad road, after 9hrs of rough journey the finally reach Mar del Plata, where Club Atletico Aldosivi is located, standing in front of the academy main entrance is Gomis who knew nothing about what was going on or where he is and his father Mr David’s, this was when mr David’s then told Gomis he had a birthday gift for him, Gomis was surprised and happy at the same time but he was thinking why this father did not tell him that at home and had to bring him this far just to tell him he had a birthday gift for him, Then mr David’s told Gomis that this will be his new home that he had registered him in the football academy, Gomis jumped up with a happy face and scream out of joy and hung his hand around his fathers neck hugging him. This was Gomis most happiest day on earth.

If Gomis has known this earlier he would have tell most of his friends and he would have tried coming to the academy countless times on his own to check it out, on getting there Gomis was so happy to see his new home because he had never for once thought his father can be in

support of his career since the day he stormed out of home out of anger after hearing Gomis wanted to be a footballer, Gomis had to pause his Education in getting a legal degree for the football Academy. As time flies Gomis begin training with his new team at first it was fun until it start getting intense, Training was getting serious and harder day by day that when it gets to a point Gomis wanted to back off and run away but he wanted to fulfill his dreams and become a successful footballer so he has to endure no matter the pain or anything it cost him.

It finally a match day for Gomis, but unfortunately for him (Gomis) he wasn’t selected to be part of the first squad so he was not happy, then the match is about to kick off, Gomis and eight other players were on bench as the match kicks off its a match between Club Atletico Aldosivi VS Rio de Janeiro FC.

After the recitation of the team items the match kicked off with high pressure, Gomis who was on the bench was not feeling too comfortable because he wanted to be on the pitch to show wat he got, after 35mins the match had started Club Atletico Aldosivi net a goal ? and it 1-0 over The Rio de Janeiro FC every one was happy including Gomis, after another 10mins of play the referee brought the play to break for the Half Time... Every one including Gomis was instructed to come in into the changing room for briefing from the coach. In the dressing room the coach scolded most playing for performing less to there ability and praised some for performing wonderfully including the goal scorer Lewis, Lewis has been Gomis Hatter from the first day Gomis has resumed into the Academy because they play the same wing as instructed by the head coach, so Gomis and Lewis more or less a rival, so automatically Lewis who is the Goalscorer will still have to be in the game for the incredible performance, which means Gomis will still have to Benin the bench for some times, after 15mins of team talk and all the referee had to blow the whistle to resume the 2nd Half, while Gomis still on bench after 10mins of play in the second half Riola who also played as an Supporting striker for the team (while Lewis Playes as a stricker) got injured and Gomis was asked to warm up and get ready to play because he is the only one who is currently fit to play in the position, After Riola was brought out on a stretcher Gomis was subbed in to support the stricker, he was happy to be subbed in and wanted to give his all for the team but the moment he is subbed in, enemity started again between him and Lewis where by Lewis isn’t ready to give the ba to Gomis at any point which make Gomis totally useless and Lewis at his peak, tho the coach did not notice what was going on because he wasn’t even expecting that at the first match of them playing together, after 30mins of play Rio de Janeiro FC finally Got the chance to score and made the score 1-1 this was the final result which was not a good start for the team and For Gomis, but they have no other choice and had to accept that.
