Bryan's gaze was still fixed on his wife, who had no expression. Cold as if without feeling. He wondered where the nagging Shienna was, who always made his ears burn when they had only been married for less than a month.
Meanwhile, another man was tugging at the corner of his lips, giving him a cynical and triumphant grin. How could Bryan concentrate on the business at hand when there were so many questions crowding his head?
"Shienna!"
"Mr. Sanders, come on. We're going to discuss business. Don't mix it with personal matters," the man said in a tone that sounded discordant to Bryan's ears. The woman sitting next to him, meanwhile, was still staring at Bryan intently but expressionlessly.
"I'm mixing our business with personal matters because my wife is between us. If you want me to focus on this matter, then let her go home."
"Hoho... it can't be that, Mr. Sanders. She is the bridge in this business."
"So it's true; you've kidnapped her, Jun!"
"Ssh... don't yell, Bryan. You'll attract people's attention," Jun said, with a lopsided smile that made Bryan's chest even heater. "Let's talk about this first. After that, it's up to Miss Miller where she wants to go."
BRAKK!
"She's a Sanders now, asshole! So no more calling her names!" Bryan growled, which only made Jun feel more victorious. The man shrugged his shoulders in indifference, and it made Bryan even more annoyed.
Meanwhile, Shienna, who had been sitting without showing the slightest expression, finally got up after the two men near her finished discussing a business that she didn't know the origin of.
Their conversation ended with Jun winning, successfully getting Bryan's signature for cooperation in the prostitution business he was building.
"Go ahead if you wanna talk to him, Ashira. I'll wait for you in the car," Jun said before walking away from Shienna and Bryan without any worries. He was confident that the woman he called Ashira would return to him, because that was the deal.
After Jun's departure, Bryan grabbed Shienna's arm and dragged her roughly towards the VIP room, which was quickly closed with an assistant and several bodyguards standing outside.
Not special bodyguards, but restaurant employees who were tasked with standing guard outside the VIP room, as per their duties.
Bryan threw Shienna down on the couch in the room, then stared into the hazel irises. There were many questions he wanted to ask his wayward wife about her plan this time.
"What kind of charade are you up to now, Shienna? Have you been planning it all along, huh? You're deliberately holding me accountable while you're playing back with that bastard. Is that right? Answer me!"
"Let go of your hand!" Shienna shook off Bryan's grip on her hand and rose to face the man, returning her husband's piercing gaze in kind. "I have no obligation to answer your question, Bray. How about you ask yourself? Can you live in an unfair marriage like this? You're free to do whatever you want while I stay at home like a hunk of rock!"
"So just for the sake of freedom, you cheated on Jun?"
"Can it be called cheating if we never had love?" Bryan fell silent as Shienna's question hit him hard. He had no feelings for her after she had stabbed him in the heart with such pain.
But couldn't he expect loyalty since he had been doing the same thing all along?
"This is a marriage, Shie. You can't make it into a toy," Bryan said later, with a slightly softer intonation, after struggling with his inner thoughts on whether to be rude to Shienna or the other way around.
"It's easy for you to say that when you've seen my pants. What about you? You were the one who made this marriage a toy in the first place, right when you handed me the contract." Shienna took out a sheet of paper and held it up high. "You see this. I no longer need your responsibility!"
She tore several of the sheets of paper into useless pieces that left Bryan momentarily stunned. However, in the next second, he gave a lopsided smile at his wife's behavior.
"You think that way you can cancel the contract. Not at all, Shienna. I guess I should remind you. I've added a new clause that escaped your scrutiny. You signed it without scrutinizing it first."
"Wh-what?" Shienna laughed out loud at Bryan's words. "It must have been a minor clause. It won't change anything."
Shienna adjusted her clothes and hairdo and was about to walk away. However, she turned back for a moment to check on Bryan's current state.
"Have a good day with your ladies, Casanova. You don't have to worry about what I think of your habits any more. You can invite any number of women without worrying about my feelings or opinion of you. I'm leaving."
Bryan was stunned, following Shienna's departure with the tail of his eyes. For the umpteenth time, she was leaving him. If Bryan had mourned Shienna's departure in the past, not this time. However, he made sure she would return to him, and he would do whatever it took to make that happen.
Regarding his goal of wanting to have Shienna, let it be that, for the time being, only he knows.

Shienna walked out of the restaurant with stomping steps. Never before had she been in such a dilemma. She and Bryan may have gotten married without love, but that didn't mean she could easily betray the man who had made her life, even though it had only been a few days.
Shienna stared intently at the SUV that had been waiting for her. Jun was inside and was stalking her from a distance. Getting away from Jun was not easy for her.
Having only been married to the loveless Bryan for a short time, Shienna already wanted to run away. Especially having to deal with a man who has been chasing her for so long.
Bryan doesn't know anything about this. Jun was his best friend in the past. Shienna doesn't know what made Bryan and Jun enemies and eternal rivals. She didn't want to know, either. It was just uncomfortable to be around a man who was both her husband's best friend and a rival.
She thought it was best to get as far away as possible before things got worse.
Unfortunately, just as she was about to escape, several of Jun's bodyguards had already intercepted and surrounded her.
"Mr. Hashimoto is expecting you, Miss Miller."
Shienna glanced at the several men in black suits with a sardonic look. "I know. What do you think I'm doing? Of course, I'm heading there!"
"We're just ensuring you don't run away."
"Yikes! I have nothing to fear from that man. So what am I running away for? Now get out of the way; I'm coming through!"
Shienna bumped into the sturdy body before her without any misgivings. She walked to the car, eager to leave. There were many things they needed to do after this. Shienna didn't care. She just wanted to do what she loved.
"I did what you wanted. Now don't interfere with Bryan's life anymore," Shienna said to the man who had been expecting her. The man chuckled, then pulled Shienna's chin up to face him.
"Do you love Bryan that much to do this for him, hm?"
"You're mistaken, Jun. He is the father of the baby I am carrying. He intends to take responsibility for this child, so I don't want you to ruin the business he's built over the years. I don't want him to fall into poverty, which means my child will also suffer. That's my reasoning, if you wanna know."
Jun grinned slyly, then applauded Shienna's statement and confession of why she agreed to his terms. However, he was never satisfied with just having Shienna in his mansion. He wanted more, of course.
"It's not enough for me to stop here, Ashira. To prove that you do not love the jackass, there is one thing you must do."
Shienna looked at the cunning man before her. She knew that, financially, she would never fall short if she accepted Jun's terms. However, that was not the problem. How could Shienna live with a man who had bad plans for her husband—her unborn baby's daddy?
"Just tell me. I will listen. But don't ever ask for anything, because I will never fulfill it."
Jun pulled back his lips and caressed Shienna's cheek gently. He looked at the pair of hazel irises intently and admired them as he had always done.
"Divorce Bryan Sanders and marry me, Ashira. I can guarantee a much better life for you and your baby. And, of course, you will be happier with me. I assure you of that."
