Shienna woke up with an aching body that made her reluctant to leave the bed. Instead, she pulled the covers up and lay still until she heard a knock on the door.
"Mrs. Sanders, are you awake? I've prepared your breakfast and vitamins. You have a check-up at the gynecologist today, and... you'll be doing yoga in the gym today with a maternity yoga trainer and Mr. Sanders," said the woman from outside.
Hearing the assistant's explanation, Shienna was forced to get up and open the door for her. "Why don't you come in?" she asked.
"I'm afraid you're not awake yet, ma'am."
"I'm awake now," Shienna replied as she stepped towards the dining table where breakfast and everything she needed was served. "Could you repeat my schedule for today, Elea?"
Elea nodded, then repeated what Shienna had asked earlier while calmly enjoying the food in front of her, and once again, she couldn't finish it all.
Shienna was silent for a moment as if she was thinking about something. However, a moment later, she ran to the bathroom.
She vomited all the food that had entered her stomach last night and this morning. Shienna returned from the bathroom looking pale and lethargic and lay on the sofa.
At the same time, Bryan came out of the elevator and immediately sat at the dining table, enjoying his breakfast. This, of course, confused Shienna. Wasn't there food available in his penthouse every day?
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Bryan asked while enjoying the sandwich in his hand.
"Why are you eating here? That's unusual."
"How long have we been married? It's only been a week, and I should be eating here since I'm no longer alone." Bryan turned to Shienna, gesturing for her to sit down and finish her meal. "We're having breakfast together."
"No, thank you. I'm already full."
"Mr. Sanders just spit out her food, sir. Looks like she has morning sickness," Elea reported, which made Shienna wide-eyed.
'So this is your job, Elea? Reporting to this asshole whatever happens to me, huh?' Shienna thought.
Bryan put down his bread and was about to get up and walk over to Shienna, but she held up a hand to prevent him from coming any closer.
"No! I'm fine. Just finish your breakfast and get to work. You should be able to fulfill my glamorous life since you banned me from having a career. Don't let yourself fall into poverty because I don't like living in that s**t condition!" Shienna interrupted in a stern tone.
"I'm not working today."
"What? What day is it?"
"It's the weekend, Shie. I have a busier schedule every weekend. And since you became my wife, my weekends are, of course, for you."
"Hoho... thanks for being romantic, but I don't need it, Mr. Sanders. You can spend your weekends with your lady of the night. She must want more. Right?"
Bryan fell silent momentarily at Shienna's sarcasm. "You just misunderstood."
"Oh, take it easy, sir. Don't bother explaining because I don't need it. We got married for a reason. I know what you said in front of the reporters was an image. So there's no need to be shy. You need something like last night. So, do what you need."
Bryan was still silent, but Shienna knew that he must be annoyed by her words. His sturdy jaw and facial veins looked tightened.
One thing that puzzled Shienna was that Bryan didn't yell or show any anger at what he'd just said but instead remained silent and left the room wordlessly.

Shienna was ready and about to leave for the best gynecologist that Bryan had scheduled without talking to her first. Everything the man did seemed to be his own decision without consulting Shienna.
Arriving at the doctor's office, Shienna lay down, and the doctor began to examine the fetus's condition in her womb. The doctor Bryan chose was a woman, not a man like most.
"How is our baby, Doc?" Bryan asked impatiently.
"You see that, that's your fetus. It's still the size of an avocado, and it is about fifteen weeks old. Regarding the gestational age, I will give you a guidebook later so you don't get confused."
The examination was completed, and the two sat side by side, facing the doctor.
"Um, Dr. Avery, I have a question," Bryan said before Dr. Avery could explain further. "Shienna was vomiting this morning; is that normal? If she vomits all her food, won't our baby be malnourished?"
Well done, Bryan! Your question now left Shienna wide-eyed in disbelief and having an inner war.
Bryan could have done it to appear to care for and love Shienna and her baby. Or it could just be part of his image. One thing is for sure, Shienna doesn't easily believe that a Casanova man like Bryan would pay such intense attention to her. After all, Bryan seems to hold a grudge still and hates Shienna, but not the baby.
"That's normal, Bryan. The most important thing is to maintain your calorie intake and eat a balanced diet with the multivitamins I gave you. Also, don't stress yourself out," the doctor said to Shienna and appeared to be typing something on his laptop. "You can go to the pharmacy to get the vitamins I have prescribed and take good care of your wife and the baby."
The two of them rushed to the pharmacy as Dr. Avery had suggested. After everything was done, Bryan drove to a place Shienna had never been.
"What is this place?" Shienna asked probingly. "Do you want to eliminate me by pushing me down from up here?"
Bryan grunted as he parked the car in an ample space. "Don't think badly of me; you don't know me, Shienna. I brought you here to enjoy food from various countries."
"What for? You seem to be doing me a favor the past few days. Do you have a specific purpose?"
"You haven't had any food since morning since you vomited your sandwich. Maybe even last night's meal. Therefore, I wanted to know what food would suit your taste and you wouldn't vomit."
Shienna fell silent at Bryan's words. He seemed serious about what he was saying. The two of them then sat down in one of the chairs close to the window so they could enjoy the fabulous river view while waiting for their order to arrive.
"I ordered all the dishes from different countries, just a taster. If you know what you like, I'll have them wrap it up for us to take home."
Again, the two were silent for a long time. Even when the food arrived, Shienna and Bryan stared at the small plates on the table.
"Elea said that we are going to do maternity yoga." Shienna began to break the silence between them. She always got information about everything from Elea. Why didn't Bryan tell her?
"Yes, we are. I consulted with Dr. Avery beforehand, and she suggested it for you."
"Yoga is too light for me. I'm even used to weightlifting."
"Your pregnancy is still young and vulnerable. It would be better to do some light exercise. Now eat first; we'll discuss this again when we get home."
Bryan watched Shienna as she tasted the food one by one. Shienna would frown when she didn't like the taste of the food and raise an eyebrow every time she liked it.
Finally, her choice still fell on Chinese cuisine, especially seafood.
"Can't you choose something else? You're allergic to seafood, if I remember correctly," Bryan said, rejecting Shienna's choice.
"Oh, come on, Bray. I've tried a lot of different foods, and there's nothing I want other than seafood. Are you going to forbid me to eat anything other than that? If that is the case, I won't eat at all."
Bryan sighed, then ordered some of the dishes he knew Shienna loved a few minutes ago when she tried them.
"Tomorrow, we're going to Westmont to visit my parents," Bryan said when they arrived home. Shienna was lying on the couch while Bryan sat not far from her, watching television and making sure the cheap gossip that had frustrated Shienna was no longer on.
He then looked at his watch. It was four o'clock in the afternoon, and they should have been ready in the gym for their appointment with the yoga instructor he had hired. However, when he turned around, Bryan found that Shienna was asleep and didn't react when he wiggled her body.
"Shie, let's go to the gym," he invited. Shienna remained unmoving as she drifted off to sleep. Bryan got up and walked away, leaving Shienna on the couch while he took the elevator to his penthouse.
However, when Bryan arrived at his floor, he didn't move, even though the elevator doors were open. He seems to think for a moment, then shuts the door again and moves to take it up to Shienna's place.
She was still there, sleeping peacefully. Bryan went over and picked her up and laid her on the bed.
He looked at the woman he had once loved so much but who had stabbed him so brutally in the heart, cutting him off when he was most in love. Now, Shienna was in front of him as his wife. But Bryan doesn't know what he feels right now. He didn't know if the love was lingering or had disappeared with the end of his and Shienna's relationship.
