Chapter Two

1108 Words
Roman's P.O.V Beep! Beep! Beep! With a sudden jerk and jolt of the ship, I am thrown from the elongated sleeping pod. My groggy eyes glance at the clock. Three in the morning? What the f**k are those idiots doing? With haste, I pull on my dark gray sweat pants and tight long-sleeved light-gray shirt. Another violent shake of the ship makes me lose my footing and come crashing down. My muscular arms stretched out before me as my broad chest collided with the frigid steel of the floor. Swiftly I rise and dash out of my room towards the command deck. “What the hell is going on?” I yell over the loud beeping of the alarms going off overhead. The bright red of the sirens flashing bathe the room with its warm glow. Quinn is at the computer. His hands moved swift and fast across the board. “We made it into the Ziperian Galaxy...but it seems we have unplanned visitors.” Quinn quickly says as beads of sweat drip down his long broad nose. My eyes shift quickly up towards the front windows. They grow wide as they take in a massive blue-gray ship right before us. Long orange and red beams exit the underside of the ship. In a matter of seconds, the beams hit the ship; causing another round of shaking to take hold of us. “s**t! It looks like we are being fired upon. Time to wake their asses up.” I say as I pivot quickly; making my way towards the door. Before I could push the button to open it, Johan comes into the room. His medium-sized hand is draped over his closed eyes as his mouth opens widely to let out a loud yawn. “Is there a party going on in here? Don't you guys know what time it is?” Johan sleepily says as he tries to stifle another yawn with his already raised hand. Anger soon fills me at the lack of common sense there is on this ship. It heats my chest and rises in my throat in the form of a low growl. Quinn stiffens in his seat as I stalk up to Johan while quickly raising my hand. It moves swiftly down and comes into heavy contact with the back of Johan's jet black hair-covered head. “What was that for Roman?” he whines as he gently runs his fingers across the back of his head, feeling for any bumps. “Wake up you f*****g i***t we are being fired upon!” I yell out, using my Alpha tone to gain his attention. Which worked because his eyes snap open and only grow wider as they took in the front windows. Within seconds he runs over towards Quinn to get any updates as to our little 'welcome party' that is going on. Quickly I pivot around and make my way out of the door. I lift my leg and run at hyperspeed down to the hypersleep room. Another set of swooshing sounds fills the air as I rush into the room. Suddenly the ship starts to rock violently from side to side again. I instinctively stretch out my arms and close my eyes tightly; bracing myself for the impact of the floor again. But I collide with something wide and smooth instead. My eyes flutter open to find that my body is tightly pressed up against William's stiff chest. “Whoah there Alpha. What the hell is going on?” William calmly asks as he helps to steady my body. “Get to the command deck and be on stand-by in case any of the grew get injured during this attack.” I quickly command as my hand smashes against the wake-up button for the hypersleep pods. William's body bows slightly in respect for his next-in-line High Alpha. “Yes, Alpha. I'll get there immediately.” Within seconds William disappears out of the room. My wary eyes glance up towards the pods as they slowly open to reveal Oscar, the last of my crew. Quickly my legs carry me over as I grab him by the light fabric shirt and shake him violently back and forth. “Hey! Wake the f**k up!” I scream into Oscar's face until his eyes start to open. With groggy eyes, Oscar's thin lips part, and a strong putrid odor escapes his mouth. “Has it been two months already?” Another low growl leaves my parted chapped lips as I shake him back and forth again. “No! It's just been...wait it doesn't even matter. We are being fired upon! Move your drunken ass!” Oscar's eyes grow wide as I let him slip out of my grasp causing him to stumble out of the pod. Within seconds we make our way back down the hall and back into the command deck. Once there the medium-sized flat video screen folds down from the ceiling. A Carpathian Captain comes onto the screen. My eyes grow wide taking in the dark blue man before me. His wide mouth opens to reveal multiple rows of sharp bright yellow teeth. What are the Carpathians doing way out here in the middle of nowhere? “Leave now or we will continue to fire.” The Captain grunts out in an extremely low voice. “With all due respect, we cannot leave. We are on a mission from our High Alpha.” I say as polity as I can to the elder before me. “Ah yes, High Alpha Drafis of Aphrodite 9. Such a stubborn, headstrong, and merciless dog he is. But his wrath will be nothing compared to ours. Regardless of what your Alpha wants you cannot pass through this galaxy. Go around or turn back.” “Well, you old blue f**k. I don't care what you elders say. I'll blow your assess out of here.” Oscar slurs as he comes wobbling up behind me. With a clenched jaw, my eyes quickly glance over towards Oscar's unstable body as it gently rocks back and forth with a can of alcohol in his raised hand. A long exasperated sigh slips between my lips. Can't he get through anything without a drink in his hand? A loud grumble radiates from the video screen and I let my eyes shift back towards the clearly outraged Carpathian. “Enough of this insolence! You have been warned! Now prepare to feel the consequences!” He shouts as he slams his hand down onto the armrest of his faded black leather chair.
