Fairy tale?

1593 Words
Lexi Pov Her birthday party was like a fairytale, and she felt like a real grown-up princess, or would it be queen? Maybe she needed a king before she became that. It didn't matter she was on top of the world. The party was truly a blast, and she was more than happy to end up seeing Theo again. She had loved him since she was little and didn't think that would ever change, even knowing he would never feel the same. She lay on her head thinking of what lies ahead and what her life was going to be going forward. She needed to get a shower and get out of her party clothes, but she also didn't feel like moving. She had just decided to start her internal motivational pep talk to get ready for bed when she heard her phone binging. Unknown: It was great seeing you today, beautiful. think we can go out tomorrow? L:Who is this? U:Theodore Radcliff wow way to wound me lex L:Sorry..um are you asking me out on a date? T:Yes T: Will pick you up and 5 be ready gorgeous! L: ok Did that really just happen? She read and re-read the texts about five times before adding Theo to her contacts. It had to be a joke, right, like did he really just ask her out on a date? She couldn't believe that he had asked her out on a date. She was actually going to go out with the man of her dreams. She now had an abundance of energy and decided to get up and do her bedtime routine. She also wanted to take extra time to make sure all her parts were properly shaved. After finishing her routine, she wrapped her hair so she wouldn't need to put in too much effort or work into her hair the next day. She finally crawled into bed knowing she wouldn't sleep well. She felt like a kid on Christmas Eve. The expectation of the next day makes sleep seem impossible. So excited! Theo POV That was easy. He figured it wouldn't be hard to get her to go out with him. She might be more difficult to persuade into marriage, but he knew with a little romance that it wouldn't be hard either. He could be very convincing, and she already loved him or at least had at one time. He wore a simple t-shirt and tight blue jeans. Women loved this look on him and made his muscles pop. He grabbed his keys, phone and shiny new engagement ring he spent 900,000 on. Well, his dad did, but still. Tonight he would get himself a bride, well, fake bride. His first step in getting what he actually wanted and that was Candy Roberts. He stopped by the florists to pick up a dozen red roses. While there, he also sent six dozen to Candy. He didn't want her to think anything he did for Lexi was real or that he wouldn't always do more for her. Pulling up to the family's mansion, he took a breath and prepared himself. The staff member greeted him at the door and told him Madam Alexandria would be down shortly and to make himself at home. She also offered him a drink, which he politely declined. He quickly messaged Candy to let her know he would be unavailable for the next several hours while he got himself a bride. T;Babe, wont be available part one tonite C:Get her to say yes quick. Want this over with T:I will and love you C:Don't touch that skank, I mean it. He didn't respond to the last message. He would do what he wanted and needed to do. He was also under no illusion there wouldn't be touching, kissing, or other things. He definitely wanted to put his hands all over her. She turned into a sexy vixen, Lexi. Lexi was descending the stairs and his breath hitched. She was wearing a spaghetti-strapped floral-patterned dress that came just above her knees, showing off her legs. Her hair was down in waves, and she didn't appear to be wearing any make-up. But she was gorgeous. What happened to the annoying little girl who would follow him around? He was starting to feel a tad guilty about his plan, and thought under different circumstances he would have definitely dated and tried to woo her. His heart belonged to Candy though, so he had to push on to be able to get what he wanted. "Hello beautiful, these are for you." Theo handed her the roses and watched her swoon while sniffing. All the girls were suckers for flowers. "Thank you, Theo, they are beautiful," Lexi told him while handing the bouquet to the staff so they could be on their way. Theo hooked his elbow with her and guided her out and on their way. He was slightly nervous. Hopefully he could sweep her off her feet and she would say yes. He opened her door and helped her into the car. He hurried to the other side so they could go. The car ride was silent, and every time he glanced in her direction, he noticed the deep pink tint to her cheeks. This was going to be a piece of cake. She was still his little puppy dog. Lexi POV The drive was less than ten minutes when she noticed he was parking, and they were at the beach. He must have remembered how much she loved the beach. She used to make him walk with her every day. She liked to collect seashells and just bask in the serenity the beach provided her. "Hope you still like the beach? " I figured we could start our date by going for a walk down the beach," Theo asked. She nodded her response, unsure if she could talk without making a fool of herself. He was at her door opening it before she even realized he exited. She grabbed his offered hand and let him lead her down the beach. "So how has life been treating you, Lexi?" Theo asked while sporting a panty-dropping smile that made her feel weak in her knees. "I have been doing really well. I just finished my second doctorate, and I am trying to decide what is next for me." "So does that mean you are currently looking for a new adventure?" "Yes, I guess you can say that. Swaying on whether to keep studying or enter the career field," Lexi answered him. "Well then, hopefully this date can give you some new ideas that don't include more education." What was that supposed to mean? Lexi still couldn't believe she was on a date with Theo, and if she read all the social queries correctly, he was interested in her. She blushed deeply, thinking about him maybe being interested in her. "Love the blush on you Lex!" Theo pinched her cheeks. She was even more embarrassed and sure blushing even worse. He chuckled and just continued leading her. They had walked in silence, holding hands and following the edge of the water down the beach. They came upon the most beautiful and romantic scene she had ever seen. Tiki's were lit, and a blanket surrounded by candles and rose petals lay in the center. It was literally a scene from a romance novel. Did he do all this for her? "Thought we could enjoy a picnic and watch the sunset together," Theo told her while releasing her hand. "You did all this for me?" Lexi was struggling with the tears that built in her eyes. "Yes. " It's all for you Lex! I have something important to ask you." He got on one knee and pulled the engagement ring out of his pocket. "Will you marry me?" Theo asked her. He can't be serious, can he? This had got to be a joke? What was she supposed to say? It was her dream come true. Maybe she had fallen asleep and this wasn't even real. She must have shown her confusion. "My father wants me to marry to inherit the law firm, and he is ready to retire for me to do so. He suggested you as a wife due to our family connections and past friendship. Now Lex, please don't think that is the only reason. That's just why I'm asking so soon. All of our parents have approved of this marriage. I also promise to keep wooing you and be the best husband. We have always known each other, so it will make it easier. So I ask again, Alexandria Coscove, will you marry me?" Well, that explanation made sense to her and it really was her dream come true. Should she say yes? She really wanted to but would need a back-up plan. This all seemed to good to be true. "Umm...Yes. Yes Theo, I will marry you." He grabbed her into a giant bear hug and swung her around. "You won't regret this, I promise!" Theo told her while slipping the ring on her finger. He then led her over to the picnic basket where the enjoyed chicken salad wraps(her fave!) They watched the sunset together while his arms draped over her, holding her close. It was truly the perfect setting for a proposal, so maybe he was being honest. She wasn't going to put all her eggs in one basket though. She also couldn't pass up a chance at a life with a man she had always loved.
