Quick Wedding

Lexi POV The next month came with a flourish of wedding planning. The event was going to be one of the biggest in New York. Both families are very well known. It was almost comparable to a royal wedding. Her dress was custom-made and cost close to a million dollars. Lexi didn't really see the need, she would have preferred a more intimate wedding with just family and friends. The dress was ridiculous as well. She could have thrifted a dress. It was only ever going to be worn once. Her anxiety made her a wreck. She really didn't want to be in the spotlight and one of the social elite. She let everyone else deal with everything. She really didn't care. Nothing was how she would have it, and apparently it had to be a certain way because of their last names. The only positive out of the entire circus was that she would be married to the man she had always loved. She already knew this was probably the biggest mistake she could ever make. She couldn't seem to stop herself though. It was all her dreams come true. She loved him. She knew he didn't love her and there was a very huge statistical chance that the two would never work out, but she wanted to hope. She knew he never really cared for her or felt the same way about her, but perhaps he could. He promised her after all that he would keep trying and they would have an actual marriage. She hadn't seen much of Theo, her supposed fiancé, at all. Other than taste-testing the cake and menu, he wasn't around. She tried not to dwell on it. She knew he was busy with work and that he would be taking over after they returned from their honeymoon. It ate at her though and allowed herself to remember to secure her back-up plan just in case everything went to hell. She didn't have any friends her age and the wedding was going to be for the public to see, so during their cake testing he brought and introduced her to a friend of his by the name of Candy Roberts. She was appalled. He first had the nerve to bring her to their cake testing, but beyond that, she didn't really like her at all. Candy Roberts seemed very fake to her, even her make-up was caked on so you couldn't tell what she actually looked like. Didn't she know less was more? She agreed to his request, anything for him. It had to look good as well. He was a well-known lawyer and the public had to see him in the right light. She would always agree to anything Theo asked of her though she loved him and wanted to make him happy. She knew all of this fiasco was probably the biggest mistake she would ever make. She felt it in the pit of her stomach, but she couldn't and wouldn't stop it. It was everything she had ever wanted. She had dreamed of being married to him when she was little. So even knowing that, statistically, her marriage was doomed, she continued on. She was a genius though and had not one, but several plans should her fairy-tale life fall through. Before she knew it, it was the day of her wedding. The wedding was being held at her home on the property. Her family was insanely wealthy, so the ceremony was held in the rose garden and the reception was held in large tents that had been erected on the property. She was still lying in bed when her mother entered her bedroom with a stylist in tow. "Oh darling, I'm so happy you decided to marry Theo. This will be so good for our families. You have always loved him as well!" Her mother Elizabeth told her. "Yes, mother, I know it's good for the family and that is why I agreed to marry so quickly, and to this charade of a wedding!" Lexi told her mom. For the next three hours, she sat in a chair to make sure she was all dolled up and fit for the cameras and hundreds of guests that awaited. Her hair was pulled away from her face but left down in waves going down her back. Her hair was so long it came just to the top of her waist. Her make-up was simple but gave her a warm glow. She was beautiful without any make-up at all, so with it, it just accentuated her already-there beauty. Her bridesmaid had entered while she was getting strapped into her dress. She plastered a friendly smile on her face even though she didn't want this woman around her at all. "Is that all the make-up they are putting on you? You look a bit plain, and you know you shouldn't look plain on your wedding day," Candy rudely told her. "Yes, this is the look the stylist decided upon, a stylist my parents spent lots of money on, so I'm sure she knows exactly how to make me look my best on my wedding day." Lexi nicely responded to Candy even though she wanted to throat punch her. "Well, I guess they did their best, especially with such a plain canvas. Hard to glam that up and all!" Candy told her while inspecting her nails like a total B****! Lexi didn't have time to respond and didn't really know what to respond to, so she was thankful when her father, Darryl, entered to take her down for the wedding. "Are you ready for this sweet girl?" he asked. "As ready as I will ever be, let's get this done, shall we?" She answered her father while latching elbows with him so they could make it to the ceremony on time. Theo POV He stood on the alter with the pastor waiting for things to start. He talked Lex into having Candy as a bridesmaid so at least his love would be there, and he could pretend he was marrying her instead of Lex. She, Candy, was the first to descend the aisle, being escorted by his best bud Charles. Charles knew everything about all his plans for marrying Alexandria just to get what he wanted, only to ditch her for Candy after he got it. For his help in planning and knowledge of said plan, he agreed to make him a partner once he took over. It was the least he could do. After all, Charles had always been his friend and, with his help, he deserved the promotion. Charles had also always hated Lex. He would tease her constantly growing up. Even went so far a couple of times, hurting her from the teasing that caused her injury. He gave both Candy and Charles a knowing smile as they to took their places at the alter awaiting the bride. The wedding procession started and all the guests rose. He couldn't believe his eyes when he saw Lex. She made a breathtaking bride. He even felt his little soldier agreeing with him. He could only hope that Candy didn't recognize his reaction. Maybe it wasn't so smart to have her here. She would be furious with him if she knew what reaction his bride was giving him. He couldn't wait to take her rocking body for a ride. He was actually starting to get giddy and anxious about the inevitable, especially with the added knowledge he would be her first. No other man had touched her yet. He'd get to be the first. He tried not to think that others would follow once he divorced her. He would be the first, so he kept himself comforted with that knowledge. He was so distracted by dirty thoughts and all the things he could do to her in the next week he missed the entire ceremony. Did he repeat his vows? He must because, just as he was going through his memory, trying to see if he had, the pastor announced. "You may now kiss your bride." He pulled her into a kiss and was shocked when it felt charged with electricity. It was the simplest kiss but probably the best of his life. He dismissed it though, thinking it was due to the excitement of soon taking her virginity. They exited the rose garden and headed towards where the reception was being held. He only danced four times during the entire reception. He had his first dance with his new bride, his mother, mother-in-law, and finally he had to share a dance with his love, Candy. "So you ready for the honeymoon?" Charles nudged him while chuckling. "I am! So looking forward to taking her. Nothing like being able to get some strange and you girlfriend basically being the one to tell you to do it." Charles shook his head. "Candy is okay with you and her...you know?" he asked. "Actually, her exact words were not to touch the skank. It's my honeymoon, though what does she expect? I can't divorce her until I take over, so I have to play the loving husband, right?" Theo told him. "Well, maybe after the divorce i might try to have a go at Lex. Be there for her time of need, you know", Charles told him. Theo didn't like that. He didn't respond to Charles, what could he do act territorial. She was only going to be his wife for a week. He didn't want Charles to even look at her. What was wrong with him? Maybe it was residual from always having to look out for her growing up. It was time for them to leave if they were going to make their flight plans. They would be taking a private jet but the plans were already filed for their departure, and it was a pain to change, so he went to collect his new wife so they could leave. She was dancing with his cousin Drew. What was she doing dancing with him? He was only 20, so much closer to her age, and he didn't like them dancing at all. "Lex, it's time to leave so we can make our flight plans. Our honeymoon awaits." She blushed hard and allowed him to lead her out to their awaiting car. He was going to greatly enjoy his honeymoon and every single inch of his new bride.
