Why Me?

Heavyn's POV

As I am just in shock about what just happened to me, I see Jaxon just standing by the side. He looks a bit disappointed in himself. I can tell that look on someone's face and that is what he looks like. He probably feels bad for doing this to me after I pleaded with him not too. 

Meanwhile, I see Prince Devin still beating Eze up and I try to get up, but I am weak and end up falling on my face on the ground. 

My body feels rather numb and it must have stopped Prince Devin from beating Eze up because I feel his arms around me helping me back up.

 "Heavyn, love, are you alright? Can you hear me?" he asked, noticing that my vision is getting blurry and I'm beginning to lose consciousness. I try to stay awake, but I fail and end up losing my consciousness. "Heavyn, stay with me, please! Love, please stay with me! I got you!" Prince Devin yells. I hear Destiny crying and running to get the car open for us.

 "Where to, sir? Home or hospital?" James, the driver asked, worried.

 "Hospital, please. Step on it," Prince Devin says, after sitting as he finished laying me down on the limo seat. I feel my body bumping up and down and it hurts badly. I slowly open my eyes and try to sit up, but Prince Devin gently pushes me back down. 

"Don't try and move because it may hurt more if you do, okay? We're almost there, hold on for a while longer. James, what is going on? What is with the holdup?" he yelled.

 "Traffic, sir. Seems to be a major car accident up here, what should we do now? We are less than 5 minutes away from the hospital's front door," James says. 

"Don't worry about it. Open the door here. I got it from here. I will carry her to the front door of the hospital and make sure she is seen first. Open the door," he said.

Prince Devin picks me up in his arms and starts running to the hospital. Damn, is he Superman or something?! The next 3 minutes, we are in the hospital and he is putting me onto a hospital bed and getting a physician.

 "What do we have here? What happened to her?" they asked.

 "Her abusive ex-boyfriend r***d her and abused her. I need your full attention to be on her for the night, alright? I need you to make sure she will be alright, deal?" he asked. 

"Will do, Your Highness. May I ask what relation you are to her? And who is she?" the doctor asked. 

"I am her sister and this man is our close friend and he needs to be here, alright? Make that clear to the rest of the staff, got it?" Destiny says. I look at her. Where did this boldness of hers come from? I am surprised with her.

She looked at me and smiled. I smiled back at her and mouthed, 'Thank you. I love you.' She comes over to me and kisses my forehead softly. I try to hold back a tear but it falls anyway. 

Prince Devin punches the wall next to us and it scares everyone there. 

"Your Highness, what is the matter? Did you need something to be done?" the doctor asked.

 "Yes, I do. I need to kill that bastard for what he did to her. Destiny, please keep a watch on her. Okay?" Prince Devin says. Destiny nods her head. 

"There he is! Officers, arrest him! He brutally attacked me! Do you not see me and what he did tonight?!" I hear Eze shouting. Prince Devin storms over to him and the officers. 

"Why did you attack him like this, Your Highness? Any reason?" the police chief asked. 

"Yes, sir. Do you see her? The one from earlier at the club too. He lured her to the same club and attacked and r***d her. I was able to get there with her sister before he hurt her even further. So, is it okay for me to do more? I want to kill him for this, if possible," Prince Devin shouted.

 People started looking at us and I cleared my throat. 

"Prince Devin, please don't make a scene. Everyone is looking at us and I don't need that," I say. 

The police chief holds Prince Devin back from trying to hurt Eze even more and looks at his fellow officers. 

"Officers, arrest Eze immediately. Eze, you are under arrest. Anything you say and do, will be used against you in the court of law. You will be going away for a very long time," the police chief said. They arrest him. Eze shouted and they marched him out of the hospital and away. 

Prince Devin comes back to us. The police chief walks over to us. 

"How are you doing? I am sorry for what has happened to you, Heavyn. I will make sure that he will never be released from jail as well as his brother. Okay? You have my word, okay?" he said, sincerely.

I nodded slowly. "Thank you, sir. You have been so much help to me. I really appreciate you and what your team has been able to do for us. Please keep up the hard work for everyone," I said, with a gentle smile. He nods and places a kiss on my hand and heads out of the room to leave. 

Prince Devin and Destiny just stare at me. 

"What would I have done without you here?" Destiny asked, starting to cry. 

"Please don't cry, sis. I am here, and that's what matters. Thanks to Prince Devin here. He saved me again. I owe him big time now, don't I?" I say, trying to laugh. 

"You find that funny, huh? What do you think would have happened if I had not made it in time? I would have lost you, as well as Destiny would have lost you," Prince Devin said, angrily. 

I cleared my throat and apologize. "I am sorry. I wasn't trying to be insensitive, just trying to lighten the mood, but I guess it wasn't in the right moment, huh?" I say. 

He just nods in agreement. "Yeah, not the right moment," he said. 

I see my parents rushing over to us and my mother is in tears. Meanwhile, my dad is pissed! Looking like he wants to punch someone or something! They rush into the room. I am wondering how they got here so fast! 

"Mom, dad, how did you get here so fast?! Weren't you guys on the island the last time we talked?" I asked.

 "Destiny called us and told us what happened and we immediately jumped on our private jet and got over here as fast as we could! Where is that son of a b*tch?!" our dad yelled. 

He wants to kill Eze and I can see it in his eyes.

 "They arrested him again and will actually charge him with r**e and abuse and he will be locked away for a while. Prince Devin here has been a life-saver! He saved me more than once and I don't know what else to say or how to thank him for all he has done," I said.

 Prince Devin just looked at me and mouthed, "You don't have to do anything. I will always protect you, alright?" I sighed.

My mother just hugs Prince Devin tight. "Thank you dear. You have been a huge blessing to this family, you know that?" my mother said, through her tears. Then, the next thing that happened, was shocking.

 "Son, who are these people?! What am I hearing that you are cheating on Layla with her?! What is going on here?!" the King yelled. Prince Devin and Prince Rex looks at each other.

 Prince Rex mouthed, 'I tried to stop them, but you know them. They persisted anyway.' Prince Devin just nods. 

"Dad, I'm not marrying Layla because I love her as you know it is just for business. If you think I'm cheating on her, then just call off the wedding. Deal? I am helping this family and this beautiful lady who has been through a lot and here you all are barging into her room like maniacs and fools with no manners or class," he said. 

"What has she been through?!" the Queen asked. 

"Her abusive ex-boyfriend was exposed for abusing her physically and then somehow got out of jail the first time we had put him there. Then, he lured her to him and r***d her and abused her some more! Happy to hear this?! I will always fight to protect her! There is nothing you can do to make me leave her because I love her!" he shouted. 

My heart starts beating fast! Did he just say he loves me?! He must be joking right?

He turns to face me and says, "Yes, you heard that right, Heavyn. I love you, and I will not let you go."
