CHAPTER 55 “Are you awake, American?” I blink my eyes open. It’s Hee-Man. No matter how tired I am, I always do my best to smile when he’s around. I know he doesn’t have to be here. He could be back home with his family. It’s nice of him to keep me company like this. Nice of him to care so much. “Merry Christmas,” he says. The words fly at me through a dense fog. He’s smiling and holding up a flash drive. “I got you a present.” It doesn’t make sense. “Christmas?” He nods. “You have been asleep for a while.” Maybe Christmas comes earlier in Pyongyang.
