A handful of days passed, and the village seemed to forget there was a reason to be afraid.
Actually, they began to question whether there’d been a creature sighting at all. The only people who claimed to have seen the dark one that day were Xia, her friends who’d been on the roof of the school with her, and a few Scar residents who lived along the edge of the channel. No one else in the village had seen a thing; they’d all gone into a state of mass hysteria simply from her warning yell alone.
