The Parasis Witch Episode 4

516 Words
As I embarked on the path leading away from the post-mortem road, warned not to venture there at 2:00 AM, memories of the previous day's laughter and jests filled my mind. However, the jovial atmosphere quickly dissipated as another unsettling night unfolded. Among us was my aunt, who was pregnant. It is often said that pregnant women are more susceptible to negative energies. My aunt was well aware of the eerie events from the previous night, but little did she know that she would soon experience them firsthand. As the night wore on, my aunt felt the urge to use the restroom. The only available restroom was situated in the courtyard, with a staircase leading to a terrace above. Though there were two rooms belonging to my uncles upstairs, my aunt was alone in her journey to the restroom. As she stepped into the courtyard, her heart skipped a beat when she caught sight of the same terrifying woman seated on the staircase, clad in wedding attire, her continuous wails echoing through the night. A chill ran down my aunt's spine as she hesitated, her mind reeling with fear and confusion. Should she proceed to the restroom or retreat to the safety of her room? With trembling hands, she mustered the courage to continue towards her destination, every step weighed down by the heavy presence of the spectral figure above. As she reached the bottom of the staircase, she glanced up, half-expecting the apparition to have vanished into thin air. But to her horror, the woman remained, her mournful cries piercing the silence of the night. Summoning all her strength, my aunt hurriedly entered the restroom, her heart racing with dread. Every sound seemed amplified in the eerie stillness, and she dared not linger longer than necessary. As she washed her hands, she stole a glance towards the staircase, praying that the ghostly figure had disappeared. However, when she turned to leave, her blood ran cold at the sight of the woman's piercing gaze fixed upon her, her mournful cries growing louder and more desperate. With a trembling hand, my aunt pushed open the door and fled back to the safety of her room, her mind racing with fear and uncertainty. What had she witnessed? Was the apparition a figment of her imagination, or something more sinister? As she huddled under the covers, she couldn't shake the feeling of being watched, the ghostly presence haunting her every thought. The next morning, my aunt recounted her harrowing experience to the rest of the family, her voice trembling with fear. But as she described the spectral figure on the staircase, a sense of unease descended upon us all. Had the events of the previous night been merely a coincidence, or was there a darker force at play? As night fell once again, a palpable sense of dread hung in the air, casting a shadow over our once peaceful home. And as we retired to our rooms, the echo of the woman's mournful cries lingered in the darkness, a chilling reminder of the horrors that lurked within the shadows.
