For the following week I stayed in the pack hospital, to be able to be moved to another place where I could at least come back to life before my mate and his parents show up next month. It was not easy, to even begin to heal, Jasmine, or should I say the Moon Goddess, although the only people that knew were my father, half brother whom I finally found out his name. He actually was named after my father and grandfather Jason Mark the third or just Jay as his friends called him. And I were the only ones who knew and we were told not to say a word to anyone or we would face the consciences. What that is I don't know and I don't want to know. This week I had several seizures, convulsions, sweats, cold and hot flashes. I also have had a fever of almost 140 degrees. As werewolves we are naturally hotter then humans, so when we get fevers its like stepping onto a volcano that is getting ready to erupt!
Dr. Sarah said it's normal since my body was trying to fight and remove the wolfsbane and silver out of my system. It seems like my blood is pretty much just wolfsbane and silver, because it's like going through a detox. Every other day Jasmine comes in and does what she can to help with the healing process. It always leaves her exhausted. However, as she is the Moon freaking Goddess, not just a witch werewolf hybrid. She works for 2 hours, then leaves for 4 hours, to come back for 2 hours, to leave for 4 hours, 3 times in a day. Take a day to recover, and come and do it all over again.
It was on the 7th day, and she came in at 7am as she usually did. Although today I could see that it was really starting to take its toll. Before she started she breathed in a huge breath, looked into my eyes, and then released it slowly. She had worry in her eyes, that she tried to hide. Over the course of the week just being able to talk more, my words started to come out smoother. My stutter was almost gone. I believe its was because of the healing that Jasmine had been doing.
"What's wrong Jasmine?" I asked her. She just remained quiet. She had her right index finger on the tip of her nose and her thumb under her chin with a look that I could only describe as a thinking look. "Jasmine?"
Still nothing. So I had looked down at my hands in my lap playing with my fingers and sighed. I raised my right hand and grabbed my necklace that the Moon Goddess created for me and started feeling it. Every time I would do that I would think of my mother. I didn't know what she looked like, I didn't know what she was like. It just made it feel close to her. I felt a hand gently touch my shoulder, and I looked up to Jasmine. She had a small smile on her face. "Your thinking of your mother, aren't you?" she asked. I simply nodded. "Have you opened the heart locket to look at the picture yet?" she asked gently.
I shook my head no. I felt tears well up in my eyes. "Here." she reached for it, I let her take it in her hands, she opened the locket, and undid that clasp that held it around my neck. She then turned it around and placed it in my hands, I looked down at the picture and for the first time that I could remember looked at my mother. My father was right I looked identical to her, except I had my fathers blue eyes. I stared at the my mother, her dark midnight blue hair, soft glow to her skin, the proud smile that reach each all the way to her eyes. My sight became blurry as I stared at my mom. How I wish I had the chance to get to know her, how I'd wish she was here. The tears started falling freely down my cheeks. Two arms reached around me, my eyes not leaving my mothers face. "There there DJ. I'm right here." Jasmine said softly, while rubbing circles soothingly around my back.
"I just... I just...." I couldn't say what I wanted to say.
"I know sweetie, I know." She replied. We stayed like that for a while. Finally, sat up straight on my bed, closed the locket, returned the necklace to my neck and sighed.
Jasmine watched on, waiting for me to finish clasping the clasp. When I was done she said, "Tomorrow you will be moved to a more secure location where I can complete the physical healing process. I am going to let you rest as well as myself. I will not see you for at least 5 days, so that I can build up all the strength I need, and so that you can also start eating solid foods, healthy foods, to help build your strength. You are going to need to start as soon as possible, because we only have 3 more weeks to build up your body weight before your mate and his family, arrive the week before your birthday. It's going to take 2 days to fully transform into your wolf, then 2 days for your dragon, and 3 days for you Gornhi. Your mate already went through his transformations, 2 years ago. I had him transform early because I needed time to find you, and I needed him to be at full strength to assist you. I wish I had known you were here all this time." She said shaking her head, clearly getting angry. I shrank back against the small head board of the hospital bed. It wasn't out of fear, I told myself. Oh who am I kidding I was afraid. No I was terrified.
Jasmine turned to me, confusion written all over her face, and in her eyes. Then her eyes widened as realization hit her like a ton of bricks. "I am sorry my child. I am not mad at you. I am mad at your father and this pack. I'm especially mad at the, Luna." She spat out the last word as if it was poison. She chuckled, "You know I have not gone to see my mother ever since I found you." She shook her head. "I'm afraid that if I see her, I will rip her apart, for what she told our father to do, before Jay was born."
I looked at her, and tilted my head to the side, "What did she say?" I asked rather curiously.
Jasmine chuckled and shook her head again, "She gave dad an ultimatum." Now I was confused. I had never heard that word before today.
"What's ultimatum, Jasmine?" I asked.
Jasmine sighed to try and explain it as best as she could. "Well, an ultimatum, is basically when someone gives someone else a choice between one thing or another." I looked at her very confused. "Lets put it into a situation that you are familiar with. Ok, lets say a guy is in front of you, and he wants you to do something that he wants you to do, but you don't want to do it." I nod my head in understanding, "So he says, either you do this or I will do this. Do you understand now?" She asked.
Tears welled in my eyes as I reminded of all the horrors of my entire life. I started to shake with fear, I sobbed uncontrollably and started screaming. I grabbed at my stomach scratching at my skin, "Make the pain stop!!!" I screamed. My heart monitor started going haywire, as my breathing became heavy and my heart started pounding out of my chest!! I reached and grabbed my hair, started pulling out my hair.
Dr. Sarah came bursting through the door, "What happened Jasmine?" she asked in a panic.
"AAAAAAAA MAKE IT STOP!!!!!" I screamed.
"I don't know, I just explained what an ultimatum was..... OH MY GODDESS!!!!" she exclaimed as she tried to help Dr. Sarah pull my hands away from my head, with a look of realization written every where on her face. "DAMN IT!!! I just sent her into a bloody panic attack!!!"
Before Dr. Sarah could ask her what she meant by that, Jasmine yelled for "JOHNATHON, AARON GET IN HERE QUICK!"
The two guards that were standing outside my room came running into my room... "Yes miss Jasmine?" They said in unison.
"Come here and hold down DJ, so Dr. Sarah can get the sedative. Quickly." Jasmine said. The guards rushed over to my bed. They were the strongest warriors in the pack. Johnathon on my left as Aaron went around my bed to come on my right side. Johnathon held my upper body still, as Aaron held my lower body still. Jasmine was holding down my center as I was thrashing all over the place. I haven't had a seizure for 2 days. I felt something prick into my arm again, and black spots started forming in my vision, and everything went black.
