There was a brief pause over the phone before James finally spoke. “I’m glad you’ve made up your mind, Anna,” he said. “What do I need to do?” Anna asked, her voice low and tense. “I will meet you in your room tomorrow night, so we—” James began. “No, not my room. It’s too risky,” Anna interrupted. “Let’s meet in the back courtyard. No guards are usually stationed there, and it’s dark, so it will be perfect,” Anna continued. “Alright, we will meet there tomorrow at midnight,” James agreed. Anna ended the call and carefully placed the burner phone back in the drawer, closing it securely.
