The darkness lunges, eyes glowing crimson, claws glinting in the shadows. Anakin’s wings snap open instinctively, feathers bristling, shadows curling at his feet with a hiss. Dante swears loudly, blades flashing as he throws himself to the side, narrowly avoiding a swipe of claws that tears through the tree behind him with a splintering crack. “Great,” Dante grits out, parrying another strike. “More murder puppies. Exactly what I needed.” “They’re hellhounds,” Anakin snaps, dark energy flaring around his hands. “Not puppies.” “I know that!
