Just as Joey left I breathed a sigh of relief.
"Thank you". I tell my mate, tears choking me .
"You're my mate and you need to know that there's nothing I wouldn't do for you, ever.
"Are you hungry? we can get you something to eat. you must be starving ".
Just on cue, my stomach grumbles and I flush, embarrassed . but he just laughs and says "cute".
As we head to the kitchen, he intertwines his hands with mine and I'm greatfull for the warmth.
"Alpha". The two omegas in the kitchen bow to Devon as we step into the kitchen. he helps me sit on a kitchen stool, facing them while holding my back he says this is my mate, your Luna, Adriana.
Immediately they both bow to me. "you're welcome to the pack, Luna".
"What would you like to eat?" the blonde one steps out to ask me, beaming brightly she looked like a star.
"Oh , I'm Bella by the way. Just Bella not short for anything".
"Hi Bella".
"And I'm Tori, short for something, Victoria. but you can just call me Tori".
"Hi Tori. I'll have just a sandwich please". I don't want to eat anything heavy. I usually don't get enough meals in a week. In a week maybe I would be allowed to eat 3 times and very tiny portions of food, mostly the leftovers.
If I eat too much now I'll most likely throw up and I would love to keep that a secret for now because it is very embarrassing.
I don't know how I survived on that amount of food, but I did, somehow.
Devon sat beside me, with his hands on my thigh giving me a blissful feeling.
"Here is your sandwich, I hope you enjoy it ". they both bow and leave.
I take the sandwich and moan, because this is the most delicious thing I have ever had.
"f**k baby, don't do that".
"Do what?"
"Make such beautiful sounds, it distracts me".
I was confused, but then I realized and my lips form an Ohhh .
"I wasn't trying to do anything, I just really like the food".
"it's just sandwich babe, how does that impress you so much".
"You wouldn't understand". I say lowly because I don't want to have the talk with him anymore. I don't want anything to shatter this joy, even if it's just an illusion.
"Don't do that babe. C'mon Addy you can tell me anything, I'm always here to listen to both the good and bad".
I preen at the nickname. I think I'm falling in love and I've known him less than a week.
"I'm broken, how can you even say that. Once you get to know me you won't want to be with me again".
He looks at me like I just punched, turns to me fully to face me , he takes a deep breath. pulls my hands to his chest and says.
"This beats for you and you alone. Before I met you, I didn't even know what it meant to feel. I was numb. you, you gave me that back, meeting you is the best thing that has ever happened to me".
"Are you sure? You're not going to take that back right? no take backs".
He smiles and kisses my palms "No take backs babe, never".
"Now finish your sandwich so I can show you around the pack and introduce you to more people ".
"I'm done".
"Addy, don't make me punish you ". he says with a growl and it sends shivers down my spine with a feeling of excitement. I'm actually not scared from the mention of the word punish.
That word alone should have given me a panic attack, but instead I feel excitement?
"I'm really done, I can't eat anymore".
"why not? You didn't even eat half of that".
"I just can't have anymore, I'm really full".
"Is it the sandwich? does it taste bad? I thought you liked it".
"Can you just drop it please, I can't have anymore ".
"I'm sorry baby, I didn't mean to push you. I can show you around the pack now, if you still want that ".
"Sure, let's go ".
So far everyone here is nice, they're all smiling and welcoming me to the pack, no one mentioned what happened earlier that was similar to an attack. which probably happened because of me.
"And this is the school building, I know it looks small but as the pack grows we'll improve the structure ".
"It's gorgeous, did you help build this?"
"Yes, I did. everything we have we made from scratch with our bare hands, well except our devices". he chuckles
"That's really impressive, in my old pack, our Alpha mostly hired people from other packs to build or construct things for us and I didn't understand why since they all knew how to do it. but you've made your pack very resourceful, it's impressive".
"I'm glad you like it ".
When we get back to the pack house, I'm exhausted and I just want to curl up with my mate and sleep.
"Alpha, a word".
It's scar and he looks angry, when he brought me out of the dungeon, he was indifferent and didn't care, but now he looks like he wants to strangle me. what could I have done to make him feel like that towards me.
But the way he looks at me makes my stomach drop and I clutch Devon's arm tighter.
"Sure". Devon says, pulling me down with to sit on the couch.
"Alone". scar eyes me with open hatred. my heart beats in fear and I don't want to think of all the ways he has imagined to kill me when I'm alone. I take a deep breath and try to control the rhythm of my heart.
"Levi, you know Adriana is my mate and that makes her your Luna. so anything you want to tell me, you can say it in her presence". he bares his teeth at him in warning.
so his name's Levi, that won't stop me from calling him scar. but of course only in my head.
"I'm sorry Alpha but until she proves herself I suggest we throw her back into the dungeon ".
I'm sorry what did this dude just say. I'm afraid this is where my own illusion shatters. I wonder what Devon will do. I really don't want to go back to the dungeon. I look up to see his face twisted in anger and I really hope and pray that it's not directed at me.
