“The most difficult age to attract,” said my Watson. That’s Dr. Jean Watson, Director of the Sherlock Holmes Museum. She’d proposed a reading program featuring the great detective to the local middle school. I made reluctant noises because I had hopes for a small part in a TV detective series. You can believe that I was prepared for that!
“There’s a grant involved,” Jean said.
When she mentioned a figure sufficient for my next two months’ rent and car payments, my heart warmed toward reading programs and even that hardest of all audiences, the middle school set.
“When do we start?” I asked.
My Watson beamed. Besides being important for my fiscal stability, Jean is a sweet person, a good friend, and a devotee of the arts. I have hopes that she may eventually devote herself to one artist
