He approached me with loud steps and looked me in the eye and said in an irritating tone," I am Eliard Joseph but what's it to you huh. I wonder how a brat even managed to find this place."
I was feeling suffocated by the murderous intent he was emitting and he made me feel dread for the first time since I came to this world.
Not even Elias made me feel like this. My instincts kicked in and it was telling me to run but I could not do so because of being paralyzed and even if I could move, I would have to complete it no matter what as Elias threatened to kill me if I failed to kill the man in front of me.
But the details he gave me about the count did not mentioned about him being a handsome young lad.
Damn it! Sometimes It's better if I don't trust the information as it is not f****** accurate.
"You must be here for this artifact right. I have to say that this sure is interesting but sadly you'll die before you can get your hands on it and I'll be sure to torture you to death as you got some guts sneaking around my house. What did you think , I wouldn't know huh."
I snapped out of my thought and looked at him carefully. I glared at him when he threatened me and for some reason when he mentioned the word torture, it pissed me the hell off.
He then took a knife from his pocket and placed it near my neck but to my surprise he didn't do anything.
He removed the knife from my neck and just turn away walking near the alter where the necklace-like artifact was lying.
His threat did not make me feel so scared as I am gonna get out of here alive and I would take that f***er's life as well.
The moment he turned away , the paralyzing effect disappeared and I could move again.
I was so shocked that he found out about me sooner even thought it seemed as though no one had found out and I was scared by what he could do beside freezing me on spot and just thinking about it makes me shudder and other than that I did not feel any fear that I might be tortured but it made me even more determined.
I was wondering why he let go of me instead of killing me instantly. While I was lost in thought thinking of the reason he did not kill me ,I felt the air in the surrounding becoming heavy for me to breathe as a hideous creature with piercing black eyes came out of the dark.
" Well let me introduce you to my my beloved pet , a chimera", he said while sounding like a psychopath.
A chimera ??I think I have heard of it somewhere. Ah ha ! Then it came to me that there were a monster's name like that in the Greek mythology in my previous life.
'The Chimera'.
It is a fire breathing female monster that was known to be "near invincible", for she had the strength of a lion, the cunning of a goat and the venom of a snake ,this had been mentioned in the internet but I'm not sure if it is the same in this world.
Let's analyze its appearance maybe I would be able to find its weakness if she is the same one as described in Greek mythology.
Let's see, it has a lion's body, complete from head to tail. Exaggerated ear and breasts that shows the creature is a female , even though it does have a short and ragged mane.
The creature also has a goat's head, rising from between its shoulder blade .The goat's head appears to be male, since it has horns and a beard. Finally the monster's tail is morphs into a snake, with a venomous serpentine replacing the lion's natural puff of fur.
The reason I know so much about it is because I studied archaeology and greekology. It was a hobby. I also went to Greece to study about it. I was very interested in the Chimera, so I dug up every information that I could find about it that time.
How nostalgic those days were. If I'm not wrong it was also the place where I met with my brother and found out that he had a girlfriend though he soon broke up with her because he said that he was fed up with her.
I even scolded him for breaking a women's heart. So I investigated it because my brother was not that type of person and then I found out that it was actually his heart was the one who broke as her girlfriend died in a hit and run accident.
It was one of his enemy who did it.
After that my brother became cold and cruel but he was always kind to me. That is also why he became ten times overprotective than he already was.
He even assigned many bodyguards for me but I still got killed.
'Hah, what's wrong with me these days. I keep on thinking about brother and my previous life a lot.'
'Well let's think about the situation in front of first. So what could it's weakness be?'
'Thank goodness I remebered those small details about the chimera but wait ,does that thing even have a weakness??' thought I.
While I was deeply lost in my thought on what its weakness could be , it shoved me on the wall with her tail. " Aargrhrr", I shouted in pain. It felt like some of my ribs were broken.
The pain was ten times what I felt when I fought the white tiger beast.
I winced in pain as I tried to get up on my feet but the chimera did not gave me the chance as it thrusted me with its pointy, sharp claw on my shoulder and it shoved me at the alter.
