Chapter 8 The First Mission

I read the contents of the paper before me carefully and signed it right after confirming that it was not a one sided deal.

"You seem to know how to write well as an orphan ,didn't you say you lived on the streets ",said Nick suspiciously as he waited for my answer.

"Hah , well I used to sneak inside of people's houses and I learned it after learning the alphabets that I stole and all , I mean I am just that kind of genius", I said with a confident look an my face.

I was not lying you know, I really did mean it when I said I am just that kind of genius. "Hahaha haha," they all laughed heartily except for Elias of course.

I also laughed with them as well even though I found nothing funny with what I just said.

Then with a serious gaze I looked towards Elias and asked ," So when do I have to prove my worth. Do I have to complete a mission or something."

I asked that cause I had a feeling that was it.

"I knew my intuition was right ,"he muttered under his breath.

"That's somewhat correct .We will send you back to the city you are from ,the Ludiquech city.

You must have heard of the city lord from there, right."

"Yes, I do," said I ," but what could you possibly ask me to do...No way is...is it what I'm thinking right now"

" It is. You just have to kill him and steal the artifact that he may be hiding in his drawing room" , he answered with an indifferent face.

"Though we have not confirmed it yet, so you need to see to it", said Alina while standing sideway.

Nick asked," But master ,will she even be able to do that ? I think it's a bit to tough got a kid."

"I agree. It is a grade E mission," said Alina while trying to figure out just what was he thinking?

But he completely ignored them and waited for my answer as he analysed my expression and emotions as well as my movement.

I wasn't shocked by what he said since I was expecting it. And he was described as a crazy killer with a calculative mind.

And also I was not bothered that I had to kill someone because I had once killed people in my previous life, it was a half mistake but I had not regret it.

But then on second thought if I'm going there for a mission , I might as well as kill those bastard that tormented me and I did say I would take revenge.

I grinned and answered, "And when exactly will that be ".

"You'll depart tomorrow morning and you have a week to complete the mission that I am assigning you, " he answered.

"A week , seriously. Fine I'll manage somehow but what happens if I kill him but doesn't get to steal that thing or if it doesn't exist."

" Killing will be your priority and if you fail to take his life, I'll kill you," he answered with a calm tone as a glint of viciousness flashed through his eyes.

Unbelievable, I stared at him with confusion and disbelief.

And then I went out of the study room in a rude manner while said ," I'm going to sleep ,wake me up early in the morning Alina ,please."

I gave her my sweetest smile and left in an even rude manner than before.

The reason I am being kind to her is because she reminds me of my mother in the previous life.

'Rude as ever just like her mother. Now I am sure of it she is her daughter. But I still need to confirm it', thought Elias smiling happily.

As soon as she was gone , he ordered Alina to leave and talked about the report with Nick.

And then ordered him, "Take this two different vial of blood and bring it to the temple to have it checked."

Nick was puzzled but he dared not ask for the reason , so he left for the temple as per his master's orders.

"I will await for good news", said Elias as he thought of his dear sister, "You don't have to worry about her anymore Amelianah , I think I found her and I'll be sure to keep my promise to you."

I went inside my room and thought hard for a moment about the future events.

'I have to make plans for the future. Since I'm in a novel and as an extra with no existence, I will probably have more chance of dying than surviving, so I have to carve my path so I can survive.

My plan to survive begins with living as an assassin as well as fighting against deadly enemies that I might make as well.

It won't be easy but on second thought since when was life meant to be so easy? I should first focus on the mission as my life depends on it.'

Let's see, the distance between the headquarter and that city is not all that small as I will be given a teleportation scroll.

Once I reach there , I'll disguise myself as a new hired maid and enter the mansion.

I will observe him and search information on the artifact then I will poison his food or I will kill him in his sleep if the poison does not kill him.

I'll also have to check his drawing room and in case it's not there I will search for the whole mansion .

Well that will be a lot of work but I'll have a whole week to deal with this matter, so I should first steal then kill and then escape.

Perfect isn't it?

Posing as a maid will be very easy since they recruit maids literally every three month and I'll kill those b****es after completing the mission. I was happy just from thinking about it and I fell asleep on the soft and warm bed.
