CHAPTER 35 They’d walked miles, skirting the chasm, searching for a place narrow enough to cross. They’d gone through most of their food and had pared down everything else so the remaining supplies and goods would fit onto one of the two travoises. They used the other to pull the girls over hills and rough terrain. They decided when they reached another plateau, and it looked like the girls could make it the rest of the way without a struggle, they could break the second sled into firewood.
