The moment the little girls recognized Rocky, they ran to him squealing. Rocky kneeled and grabbed them both into his arms and held them to his chest. He hugged them for a good long while until the always impatient Lacy squirmed her way free. “Every single day we play with the horses you made us,” she said to him.
Chaco greeted him. “Good to see you, Rocky. Hey, ah, what happened back there?”
“Let’s just say no one need worry about some of those cannibals again. A couple got away, but they won’t be coming around after what they saw me do to their buddies.” With a forefinger, Rocky made a slicing motion across his throat. He lowered his voice to a whisper. “I strangled one of the bastards with his own intestines.”
