Alistair sat at his desk, a pen twirling between his fingers as his eyes scanned the script in front of him. His concentration, however, was fragmented, his thoughts frequently drifting to Riley in the next room. The recent shifts in their dynamic left him feeling unsettled but oddly invigorated. "What are you doing over there?" Riley's voice broke through his thoughts. She leaned against the doorframe, her hair tied back casually, her expression a mix of curiosity and mild impatience. Alistair looked up, startled. "Just going through my script. Trying to memorize some lines."for dinner, I'll just make myself at home and cook something for us." Alistair smiled faintly. "That’s generous of you. Thanks. I’ll be done soon." Riley waved a hand dismissively and disappeared into the kitchen.
