There will be competition

On wednesday morning Lizzie was at Miss Nora’s desk asking for guidance when the CEO came to the room followed by Weng. Alice and Fred looked over to Lizzie and they all exchanged anxious looks as their boss approached. 

- Please, I want your attention for a minute. As you all know, I was a writer before becoming the CEO of Drakion. So, I’m thinking about coming back to the business and for that I will open a contest for innovative ideas, the first place will get a money prize and also will work with me on my new book. Everyone that works in this company can participate, it doesn’t matter what your job is here, if you want to take a shot, then just do it! - And with a smile everyone applauded and cheered the young director - Weng will be in charge of sending everyone the details of this contest.

As Darius went back to his office everyone started to talk about what just happened, as Fred and Alice were already close to each other they didn’t even wait for Lizzie to come back.

-Oh my! What a chance! - Alice had shining eyes just like a kid.

-Imagine working all alone with all that beauty…

-Oh, Fred! You only think about that? - Alice laughed at him.

-No, of course not! I think about a lot of handsome guys too. - Fred laughed.

-Gee, I want to participate! Will you enter the contest too?

-Of course! I wouldn’t lose my one chance to be alone in a room with Mister Kadec.

-Oh Fred! You’re helpless!

-What am I losing this time? - Lizzie came back curious about what her friends were talking about.

-Oh you know, this wargame to see who will get a chance to be locked in a room with our handsome director…

- Oh Fred! What a way to put it - Lizzie started to laugh at her friend - But I think it’s a nice chance to show what we’re made of! Are you all entering?

-Of course, darling! - Fred had a cynical tone.

-I’m entering too. - Alice had a simple smile, she almost spoke too softly.

-If you speak any softer, we won’t be able to hear you anymore, dearie. - Fred sad and Alice blushed.

-Oh...Sorry… - Her voice was even lower this time.

-Stop it Fred, you’re making her nervous. - Lizzie hugged her.

-I’m sorry Alice-dearie, you know i like you, right? - He patted her head and smiled- No need to be nervous around us! - Fred had a warm smile, Alice felt really glad that she already had made two great friends in this new moment of her life.

Without anyone realizing as Lizzie left Miss Nora’s desk, she went to the director’s office. She walked through the long corridor until she reached the last room, Miss Nora knocked three times on the door and didn’t have to wait long for Weng to open it.

-Mister Kadec, do you have a minute?

-For you? Always! - Darius smiled just like a kid.

-You know I respect you a lot, don’t you?

-Of course Miss Nora! You have been by my side for so long, I can’t imagine what would be of me without you!

-So, would mind hearing the opinion of someone who is old enough to be your mother?

-Lay it on me, and please call me Darius when we’re alone! I’ve already told you.

-Of course, it’s only the habit… I think you’re great Darius, but you need more than work in your life, don’t you think?

-Oh…

-You hired such great people recently and they’re all about your age… I think you should try to befriend them, they’re having lunch together and you could call them out on friday night to celebrate their first week in Drakion...It’s going to be good for you. - Miss Nora had such a sweet smile, it was impossible to say no to her.

-Well, I guess I can try…

-Great! So why don’t you start today by having lunch in our cafeteria? - Darius was just where Miss Nora wanted, her cunningness was something that one shouldn’t underestimate.

At lunch once again the six new employees were together talking about the contest announced by Darius. And one more time Alice and Lizzie were quieter than when they were only with Fred.

-So are you all participating in the contest? - Clare, a dark brown haired girl, asked.

-Sure I will, no way I’m gonna lose my one time chance to be alone in a room with that handsome guy. - Fred laughed again.

-I’m participating too… But not for the same reason as Fred. - Lizzie timidly smiled.

-Yeah, me too… - Alice said with her soft voice.

-I’m not sure if I’m confident enough to participate in such a competition… -Rina said before getting another bite on her steak.

-I don’t think I’m going either… My thing is about designing not writing… - Liam said, he was the book designer.

Suddenly the whole cafeteria stopped, for a second you could hear the flies if you wanted, everyone just focused on Darius Kadec entering the cafeteria for the very first time. Even the new employees realized that someone like him wouldn’t have lunch at the company. And for the first time you could see the director of Drakion all by himself, Weng was nowhere to be seen. Darius was heading to an empty table as Fred yelled:

-Heeeeeey! Mister Kadec!! Come have lunch with us! - Everyone at the table looked surprised at Fred.

-Are you nuts? - Liam whispered to him. But to their surprise Darius stopped to look at them with a smile and started approaching their table.

-Hello...Do you mind if I join you?

-Not at all! - Clare answered and everyone else nodded in agreement and Darius sat eager to join their conversation. But everyone got too nervous to start a conversation, after only a few seconds, that looked like a eternity to some, Darius started:

-Well, It’s the first time we get so many new recruits, so why don’t we celebrate together friday night?

-Great idea Mister Kadec! I’m totally in! - Fred was the most enthusiastic.

-Please, call me Darius everyone, we’re about the same age… So, I’m not used to going out like this, can I leave the choice of where we’re going up to you?

-Leave it to me! I’ll choose the best place ever and we’ll never forget our first week commemoration.

-I’ll be sure to keep an eye on Fred. - Lizzie said and laughed at him.

-Oh, now you want to show off? - Fred pretended to be jealous.

-Fred, calm down ok? You’re gonna scare the director off. - It was Liam’s turn to make fun of him.

-Great now I’m at the most wanted list… - Fred pouted and Darius laughed.

-I don’t think that would scare me off, even though I’m not really used to hanging around people at my age..

-You should definitely hang around with us more! - Rina said and that made Darius smile brightly.

-Thanks, if you wouldn’t mind then I think I can have lunch here when I don’t have meetings far away.

-That would be great! - Alice said with such a soft voice and sweet smile, even the girls would call her a cutie.

-Ohhh, you’re so cute, I wanna put you in a jar and carry you around. - Clare said while hugging Alice as she blushed. Everyone broke into laughter, even Darius, and for the first time he felt his heart warm, it wasn’t the same feeling when he couldn’t control himself. It was something totally different, something that felt like an emptiness being filled, he smiled without realizing.

-Ohh, you’re cute too, bro! - Fred once again joked while passing his arm around Darius.

-You’re helpless, Fred. - Lizzie laughed.

The week went by and everyday at lunch Darius would gather with the six of them. Fred created an online group so they could talk and decide on the plans for Friday night, Darius got surprised when they asked to add him too and gladly accepted. Fred chose a place of his liking to their little party, it was a nice place where friends could drink and talk as much as they like, it was also near his home and their working place.

The place was called ‘The kahos’, they served gourmet hamburgers, but their drinks were the most appetizing to the young adults. They chose the table on the balcony, the drinks surely wouldn’t let them feel any cold. 

Of course all the girls in the group were astonishing, during the whole week their subject was about what to bring and where to change their clothes. Thankfully Lizzie also lived nearby and they all went to her home to get ready, as the boys didn’t care that much about getting prettier, they went ahead of them.

-How do I look, Lizzy? - Alice asked her timidly.

-You’re perfect! - Lizzie smiled. Alice was wearing a black dress not very long, nor too short. It fit her body perfectly, her thin waist, her delicate back, it was almost a princess-like dress, but black colored - Are you sure you don’t wanna try anything new with your hair?

- I prefer my hair loose, thanks.

-Well, so it’s my time to get ready and we’re good to go! 

-Clare, can you please help me close my dress? - Rina was wearing a red off-the-shoulder dress, it just made her green eyes stand out even more.

-Of course sweetie. - Clare was wearing a light pink dress, and it was a perfect match for her delicate nature.

A few minutes later Lizzie entered the room all ready, her short and tight navy-blue dress also made her honey eyes stand out. She was also wearing heels, in fact of the girls, only Alice wasn’t wearing heels, even though she was the shortest of them.

-Loooook Lizzie! Alice is even more cute now! - Clare once again was hugging Alice.

-Ohhh Clare, I’m not a child, you know, don’t you? - They all laughed at the pretend-to-be-angry Alice.

-Are you sure you aren’t? - Clare pouted - Now I wanna hug you even more.

-You’re the one that looks like a child, Clare! - Rina pointed out.

-Heeeey, let’s go? - Lizzie called them already at the front door and all the girls followed her.

Darius, Liam and Fred were already drinking and laughing about something when the 4 girls arrived. Fred whistled as the other two gazed at them.

-Wow, you girls are amazing. - Liam said.

-Really astonishing. - Darius completed, he had a bad feeling about that, he was the whole week on the verge of losing control and now he was drinking and enjoying his time with all of them, something was bound to happen.

The table had enough space for all of them, Fred sat at one end of the table with Liam and Darius by his side. Alice sat between Darius and Lizzie, at the other site Clare sat between Liam and Rina.

- I have to tell you, everyone needs to try this drink with rum and tea, it’s just the best of the house - Fred told them.

-Waiter, you heard the man, bring one for each of us. - Darius ordered immediately and as the drinks arrived at the table, Darius stood up and told them: - I want to thank you in the first place for accepting me in this nice group and also congratulate every single one of you for your first week in Drakion. Everyone made me proud this week and I have high expectations for each one of you! Cheers!

-Cheers! - Everyone said together and they started their drinking party.

-So, if you don’t mind, can I ask you about Weng? It seems that he is following you the most part of his time. - Fred asked Darius.

-Oh, he has served my family a long time, he is the one I can count for almost anything.

-Why didn’t you bring him along? - It was Rina’s turn to ask.

-Oh, we have some business in my family’s villa this weekend, so he went ahead of me this time.

-I see, so tonight we have you all for ourselves. - Fred laughed and everyone broke into laughter.

-We should do this more often, don’t you think? - Alice said with a different smile, probably the drink was already having some effect on her.

After a couple of hours of drinking and talking, Lizzie and Clare went together to the bathroom.

-Girls always go in pairs to the bathroom… - Liam started to protest.

-It’s because they are afraid of trolls. - Fred winked and everyone esle laughed, everyone but Darius, he was concentrated on the chance he was given, without any other girls if he touched Alice he could probably tell if it was her or not the chosen one. He felt uneasy about the sudden decision to try to touch her, but he was aiming for her hand, her arm at best. 

Darius raised his hand to touch her and pretend to call her but as soon as he touched her arm, he felt Lizzie clinging onto his back. She suddenly hugged him at the same time his hand touched Alice, a strong wave of heat struck into his body and once again he found himself desperately trying to control his powers.

-Heeey. - He heard Lizzie say as she hugged him from behind. And in a few seconds Darius suddenly stood up startled and with his blunt movement Lizzie lost her balance and fell into the ground.

-Ouch! - She was too drunk and couldn’t avoid falling.

- Sorry Lizzie! Are you alright? - Darius stretched out his hand to help her stand.

-Yeaah, I’m fine… - As she tried to stand, Lizzie felt a strong pain in her right foot and fell again, but this time Darius held her - Ouch, I think that’s it for me tonight…

-Oh Lizzie, are you ok? - Alice approached her friend, everyone else watched carefully.

-Yeah, I think I just need to rest… - Lizzie forced a smile on her friend.

-Ok, I’m taking you home, after all it was my fault. - Darius said.

-Oh no! I don’t want to be a burden!

-Of course you won’t be and I won’t accept no for an answer!

-It seems the lioness is showing her claws, - Fred laughed saying that to Liam, by the distance between them a human wouldn’t hear what he said, but Darius heard.

-So, bye guys! - Lizzie waved at them.

-See you. - Darius helped Lizzie to walk and called a cab for them.

The ride wasn’t long but it felt like an eternity for both of them. Darius was still feeling his blood boiling, his thoughts were too fast and too much for him to handle. He couldn’t figure out who made him feel like that, and being drunk in a car with such a beautiful girl didn’t help either.

-Lizzie? - He called and the girl immediately looked at him - Are you ok? You’re quiet.

-Oh, I’m gonna be fine, it’s hurting a bit, but don’t worry. - The car stopped at Lizzie’s address.

- It’s $12,50 sir.

-Here, keep the change. - Darius paid the driver and went to the other side to open the door for Lizzie.

-Thanks. - She said while leaving the cab, and struggling she crossed the street limping - Well, thanks Darius and sorry to trouble you.

-Not a problem at all...Do you live in this building?

-Yeah.

-Does it have an elevator?

- Not really… But I’m going to be fine.

-Ok… - Darius waited for her to open the front door of the building and without warning he took her in his arms and carried her princess-like.

-Whaaat?

-I won’t let you go up through these stairs with this foot of yours. Now tell me where you live. - his eyes were determined, he wouldn’t accept no for an answer and she knew it.

-Keep going, I will tell you when to stop… - Lizzie blushed and held him tight, her arms wrapped around his neck. Their faces were so close that her heart started to race like crazy and all she could do was hope that he couldn’t notice - That’s it, that door is where I live - Lizzie pointed.

-I will hold you while you unlock the door.

-Ok... You can leave me on the sofa… - Darius held her while she unlocked the door and opened it, he entered the apartment and walked a few steps until the sofa. While leaving her laying there, she wrapped stronger around his neck and kissed the Dragonborn.

Darius was drunk and on the verge of losing control, yet he couldn’t ignore such a beautiful woman, her tight dress showed her thighs, he passed his hand in her tights and their kiss intensified. Lizzie kept pulling him closer, passing her hands through his neck and hair, Darius held one of her thighs and placed his other hand on her back. His blood was boiling hot, he couldn’t let things keep going like that even though their bodies screamed for each other.

The young director gently stopped the kiss and looked at her with a smile, he was breathing heavily and couldn’t take his eyes off her.

-Sorry Lizzie, I’m not feeling well… I gotta go… - Lizzie blushed and looked down - You’re so gorgeous, I’m sorry but I’m afraid I won’t be able to hold on if we keep going like this... See ya…

And just like that Darius rushed out of the apartment. Lizzie tried to follow him, but as she reached the door, he was nowhere to be seen. She felt her heart racing and her legs shaking, that feeling was totally new to her and she wanted more, much more.

Alice had red cheeks of drunkness, Liam took the opportunity to change places and sat beside the girl.

-Are you alright? 

- I didn’t fall… - Clearly Alice couldn’t hold her liquor - Director Darius?

-The director is red haired, I have black hair… -  Liam laughed at her and petted her head.

-Silly, don’t laugh at me…

-Sorry, it’s because you’re cute even drunk…

-Guuuys, sorry to interrupt but me and Clare are going home...I think i need to take care of her too.. - Rina was trying to hold Clare, that was too drunk to do anything - I meant to say goodbye to Fred but it seems he is busy with another guy…

-Yeah, he is. - Liam smiled - Send word when you guys get home, ok?

-Alright… Is Alice alright? - When Liam looked at her, she was asleep on the table.

-Oh, she can’t hold her liquor, but I’ll see her home, don’t worry.

-Okay, see ya! - Rina held Clare tight as they walked to the cab she called.

-Aaalice? - Liam tried to gently wake her - Hey, you need to go home, can you? - Liam tried to get to her, but nothing changed, she was  deeply asleep.

I can’t just bring her home, she will think I did something strange with her...What should I do?

Liam lost himself in thoughts as he watched over Alice, for some reason he couldn’t help but worry about that girl that seemed so cute and frail. He knew that it wasn’t safe for her to be alone when she was so drunk and for the time being, unconscious. Liam looked at Fred flirting with a guy that he didn’t know where he came from, but he didn’t have any other options left, so he went to talk to Fred.

-Fred… Sorry to interrupt, but we’ve got a problem… -Liam explained how he couldn’t just take Alice to his home and also he couldn’t just leave her like that.

-Okay, we can all go to my place, the four of us. - Fred said not too amused.

-Thanks.

- Just so you know, I have just one guest room… - Before Fred finished he was interrupted by Liam.

-Of course man, I’ll gladly have the sofa. - That wasn’t really the end of night that he imagined, but he wasn’t going to complain.

Liam carried Alice princess-like to Fred’s apartment, he tried to stay a little behind so Fred could have some kind of privacy with his new friend. And so, he couldn’t help but to observe each detail from the girl in his arms, her brown hair, her soft skin, her cheeks, everything about her seemed so delicate and beautiful. But soon Fred just snapped him out of his thoughts:

-Well, we’re here. - Fred smiled in front of the building. They took the elevator to the 4th floor and as they got into the apartment Fred said: - So, see that our princess gets the blankets from the closet at the guest’s room, will ya? - Fred blinked and rushed to his bedroom with the guy that Liam didn’t even know the name. Fred’s bedroom was just near the entrance of the apartment, the guest’s bedroom was across the apartment and in front of the bathroom, between the two bedrooms there was the living room and the kitchen.

-Yeah, of course. - Liam gently laid her in the bed and took two blankets, one for her and one for himself. He softly covered the girl and left the room closing the door behind him. He sighed and stared at the floor, with nothing more to do he went to the sofa to get some sleep.

The sun came through the curtainless window waking Liam up, he tried  his best to get some more sleep, but he couldn’t. Not long after that Fred came out of his bedroom followed by the guy from last night.

-Morning Liam… We’re going out, when our sleeping beauty gets up you can use up the kitchen but please leave it cleaned... If you want to go home, please leave the keys under the carpet.

-Ok, Thanks Fred. 

Liam washed his face and decided to go to the market near Fred’s apartment, there he bought some ingredients so he could make a strong breakfast because Alice would surely need it. As Liam didn’t have any spare clothes, he took off his shirt, wore an apron hanging at Fred’s kitchen and started cooking. Even though his head was aching from last night drinks he looked pretty amused doing their breakfast.

Alice opened her eyes to see an unknown ceiling, actually, she started to see that she didn’t know the whole room. At her right were many shelves, she could see some heroes, anime and game figures. There was also a gaming console and a TV, so the owner of the house was a gaming person. She looked at her dress on the floor and at first thought that she might have taken it out before going to sleep, even though she didn’t remember much of the last night. She wore her dress back and opened a little bit of the door and saw the shirtless Liam happily cooking and she felt a chill in the spine…

Oh. My. God… Did Liam and I… OH MY GOD… It can’t be true, did I really sleep with him? Was I that drunk?

Alice's thoughts were fast and uncoordinated, she didn’t know how to feel about it, sure, Liam was beautiful too, but she had never had a one night stand before and he was her coworker! 

-Good morning sleeping beauty! - Liam winked at her, Alice was even more shocked.

-Ahem… Good morning. - She sounded a little down, but yet Liam gave her a bright smile.

-I thought you would be a little down with a hangover and prepared a nice breakfast for us, no need to be shy and just dig in. - He said putting plates on the table, Alice stood still for a few moments before sitting at the table.

At the table there were scrambled eggs, some nice slices of bacon, some fruits and a bottle of juice and another of green tea. Liam really thought of everything.

-You made all of this yourself? - Alice was surprised.

-Yeah, well… The sun woke me up early on the sofa so I took my time preparing all these. - He smiled and this time Alice could notice how beautiful his smile was.

-Oh, you slept on the sofa? Sorry I bothered you at your place…

-Oh no! This is Fred’s apartment, so I just carried you here. Fred and his companion left early, so I bought the ingredients to have breakfast before we leave.

-Oh, I see… Well, sorry anyways, I was really a burden last night..

-Calm down Alice, it was really nothing and at least I could see your cute sleeping face. - He said while kindly smiling at her and the girl instantly blushed.

-Thanks Liam, everything is delicious! - Alice said before drinking a cup of iced tea and having a bite of her bread full of scrambled eggs. 

-I’m glad you like it.

They finished their breakfast together and then cleaned Fred’s place. The kitchen wasn’t that big, but Liam and Alice managed to clean everything they used there together. After everything was ready they went to their own home and Liam left the keys under the carpet as Fred asked.
