[Christian Castillo] Lily Knowles flees my home like a storm threatening to unearth: trembling, shaky breaths and a quiet muttering of sounds I don’t bother to care about. I watch her disappear down the hall, jaws tight, my hands stuck into the pockets of my slacks as she breezes past me without as much as a glance. Good. Can’t trust myself to say anything nice to her after the stunts she had quietly and purposefully pulled with Shane. I don’t know what was up her sleeves when she came here with a claim to see Adelaide, but I knew, for quite measurable reasons, It couldn’t have been good. I wasn’t one to eavesdrop on conversations, however, watching Adelaide try to steady her breathing, all the while rubbing herself by her shoulders as she paced about says everything about this visit.
