Told myself you'd be gone by sunrise. ~Alina Baraz song Pretty Thoughts  ☆☆☆☆☆☆ "Calm down Willow."Steven groans Maddox drops me on a chair he dragged to an empty class with the rest following behind. Ronnie was the last to walk in he locks the door behind him.  There is soon an awkward silence. Someone needed to adress the elephant in the room so it was me. "Why am I here?" I snap looking out the window I didn't want to meet the gazes of my so called 'friends'. "Willow...please don't be mad at us." Bonnie whispered walking closer to me. I chuckle darkly hitting my leg. This was ridiculous. "Me...mad...I'm not mad." I say between laughs then going back to my blank stare. "I'm furious." I mumble glaring at all of them. I look out the window again watching the orange coloured leaves fall. "You know before my dad died he would always tell me 'Willow don't let people break and never snap'. I recite the line a tear falling down my cheek.  I look at the people in the room the boys look down with guilt and my friends have glossy eyes. "And you know what I did...I broke and snapped beacuse of a mean girl...you know what hurts the most the fact that the people I cared about weren't by my side...they thought I was a problem." I whisper disappointed.  No one said anything I waited for someone to speak but no one did. I stand up grabbing my school bag. "Have a good day." I whisper Maddox stares at me I look down not wanting to meet his gaze. I walk to the door opening it looking back at the room then walking out. ------------------------------------------------------------------ "We've come to far to give up who we are...so let's raise the bar and put cups to the skyyyy." I sing to myself I bob my head to the Pharrell Williams song. I was doing my homework at my desk my mom was still at work for the rest of the day after I spoke with my friends and the guys I countinued the rest of day at school they still haven't said anything to me I was pretty bummed out. No one snitched on me about what happened at the cafeteria cause they were 'now scared of me'.  I write down my equations still listening to the song and singing along that was soon disturbed when I heard a knock at the front door. Who could that be? I look down at my watch to see it's quarter to eight.  I turn off my speaker slipping on my fluffy duck slippers jogging down the stairs I didn't care about my appearance I was wearing grey pyjama shorts a red tank top with a white sweater over it and grey over the knee socks. My hair was held down by a red bandanna. I open the door snapping at the person. "What?" "Is that how you greet a guest?" I know that voice I look up to see Zeko my cousin. "Zeko!" I shriek with excitement I jump in his arms wrapping my legs around his hips he hugs me back laughing. "Oh my little Willow tree." He says placing me down. "You look amazing by the way." He smiles at me. "Me..look amazing boy you crazy." I say in a hood accent we laugh at each other for a bit until he speaks up. "So are you going to let me in or not." He murmmers. "Oh sorry." I apologise. "Come on in. I was so happy to have my cousin Zeko over he's 22 years old he was my ride or die when my father passed away he was always there to cheer me up when me and my mom moved to Green Valley I was upset that I would have to leave Zeko and his family there.  We soon get comfortable on the couch talking we spoke about everything well except for the fact that I'm not talking to my friends Zeko knows them he met the girls a couple of times and they all think he is really cool. "So how's highschool?" Zeko asks sipping on his coke.  "Its....it's fine, I guess."I murmmer. Looking down at my can of coke. Zeko notices my tense behaviour. "Spill Willow." He demands placing his coke can on the coffee table. "Its with my friends." I whisper looking up at Zeko he pulls me in a hug as I tell him everything crying in his chest. "Shhh...everything is going to be okay Willow." He rubs my back comforting me. I pull away wiping my tears with the back of my hand. "What should I do? "I ask wiping my eyes. "Listen to them." "What?". "You don't know why they said it or did that Willow just listen to what they have to say and if you don't like it...you give them a piece of your mind." Zeko explained patting me on my back. "Thanks Zeko you're the best." I hug him. "I know Will." Zeko mumbled stroking my hair. ▪▪▪▪▪
