I quickly got up from the chair, pushing it a little back, and walked towards the office door, heading to the room from where all the noises were coming.
I scented the air, frowning even more when I realized that there was not just an unknown vampire whose presence I had missed. Besides my family - and Luke’s, who must have returned home recently - there were seven other vampires in the room - an enormous number not to be considered a threat. I recognized the scents of Kate, Garrett, and Tanya, as well as Peter and Victoria, but I couldn’t identify the other two scents that were invading my nostrils as I descended the stairs.
These unknown vampires could be friends of Peter and Victoria who decided to follow them and Luke here. It was rare, but a possibility.
