Her words and the emotion behind them made me laugh. She was truly a lovely person.
One word from her made me stop and question.
— Blood?
She nodded.
— We keep blood bags in the freezer all the time. It’s for emergencies. Peter had a feeling that we would need extra blood at home, possibly because you were coming here, so we brought more packs a few weeks ago. You wouldn’t believe how easy it is to raid a blood bank. She rolled her eyes and sighed heavily.
— Wow. — I said, surprised and somewhat shocked — That’s really kind of you. I possibly can’t thank you enough for everything you’re doing for me.
She shrugged and smiled.
— We want to help you, and it’s no big deal. You don’t need to thank us.
I smiled back at her, my eyes telling her how truly grateful I was.
