As soon as I arrived at the office, Blake’s assistant came to meet me.
“Your presence is being requested at the office, please,” the assistant said.
I wondered what this was about this time. If Blake tried to pull anything stupid, he was going to see the other side of me this morning. I stormed across the corridor, annoyed that Blake was the first person I had to see on a wonderful Monday such as this.
I reached the office, standing at the doorway while he propped his elbows on the table and clasped his fingers underneath his chin.
“Welcome, welcome, have your seat,” he said.
“I prefer to stand,” I said dryly.
“Suit yourself, then,” he said and leaned back into his chair, watching me.
