The journey back from Athens turned out to be more fun than even the drive there. Mike enjoyed the time he’d spent with Elise, in spite of the minor hiccup in the morning. And to a lesser extent, the argument that almost was at lunch. He knew it wasn’t her fault; she was passionate about him fulfilling his dreams. He wondered why she cared so much?
On the way back, he’d toyed with the idea of showing her his dream, his real dream. Baking and selling his goods was only a part of his pipedream. However, having seen her reaction to finding out he baked, he wondered if it was wise.
“It’s been such a lovely day, Mike. Thank you.” She reached out and covered his hand with hers on the gear stick. “It’s a shame it has to end.”
He stared down at her hand, then back up at her sweet face. “Who
