27 Abigail opened the curtains in her bedroom when she heard Elise’s Jeep park outside. Glancing at her clock, it was quarter after midnight. She was late, but she wasn’t going to read her daughter the riot act on vacation. She spent the best part of the day with Scott, painting the barn. After Sara left, happy that their problem was solved, Abigail thanked him for his help. He didn’t need to help them. It was above and beyond his job description, but he had secured the wedding with one phone call. Maybe he wasn’t as bad as she initially thought.
