Chapter three

Luca's pov. I woke up with a terrible headache, definitely a result of a hangover. Reaching for my drawer and I grabbed a pain killer, prepared for my day at work cos it’s going to be a busy one. I stepped out of the bathroom, dressed up in black tuxedo suit and matching black monk strap shoes. A tie to compliment the outfit and an oud scent for the day. Ding! Stepping out of the elevator and heading towards my office I notice a familiar floral scent which only belongs to no other person than Mrs. Margaret I preferred calling her that than mom. Only a woman who pays attention to her kids deserves to be called mother. Honestly she was the last person I needed to see today and my anger started building up as I walked down to my office door on opening it she was there sitted already. All she did was turn her head to back and say ; "You know, a CEO who wants to keep his company in order needs to come earlier to work!". I shot her death glare and walked straight to my seat. Ignoring her presence, I settled down on my table to begin my work for the day. I have files to go through and meetings to prepare for. "You’ve not changed, I believe you should have learned some manners, you should learn to respect elders' '. she scoffed, flipping her silk hair behind her and showing off scarlet nails " What do you want, Mrs. Margaret".I replied coldly. " Tsk tsk not even mum, that’s bad". she pretends to be hurt pouting but I knew better than to believe that, I knew better than to fall for it, it was always part of some dumb scheme. "I don't have time to exchange words, I have a busy schedule ahead of me". I said while looking into my laptop. "Luca". she said softly and I didn't even bother replying to her. "Well I have a little issue that will favor you mostly".she paused hoping to get a reply but didn't get any so she continued. "I need you to marry Bianca Park. Her father will be dying anytime soon and he needs to see his only daughter getting married to someone before he dies. And you know that will help with the growth of the company also”. She exclaimed with evil laughter clapping her hands excitedly like a little girl in front of an Ice Cream truck. All she had always cared about was money. That's why she murdered my father and left her kids to be abused and traumatized. I scoffed in disbelief. "Use the door or I will call the security to help you out". I simply replied. " I brought you an opportunity and you think you can just talk to me like that". She stood up in anger and walked towards me. " Luca you are going to marry Bianca Park and it's not a choice, it's a must!". She said her voice dripping in anger. "Ungrateful bastard" she said and slammed my office door, the sound echoing. I loosened the knot of my tie and decided to relax well on the chair to ease my anger. “Get me a cup of coffee, and be fast about that”. I told my secretary, Bethany, on the phone with a tone of anger. Bethany entered the room carrying a steaming cup of coffee, the aroma wafting through the air. Grateful for the caffeine boost, I reached out, took a sip, and felt a momentary sense of relaxation wash over me. With renewed focus, I turned my attention to the important files neatly arranged on my desk, each holding potential opportunities. As I delved into the documents, my mind began formulating strategies and plans for the upcoming meeting with the formidable De Luca empire. The deal with the De Luca empire is a big and important one. I took one last sip of the coffee Bethany had brought. I stood up, straightened my attire, and walked towards the door. “This is the prepared speech for the meeting with De Lucas meeting sir”. Bethany handed me the speech as I made my way towards the meeting room. The meeting proposal was brief and detailed, a wave of joy coursed through me as the De Luca responded positively to the proposal. Their expression softened which indicates a genuine interest in collaborating with me. When the final terms were agreed upon and the contract was signed, relief washed over me. The meeting had indeed been a success, surpassing even my most optimistic expectations. As I left the meeting room, the weight of accomplishment mingled with a sense of satisfaction. The De Luca empire, once an enigmatic and formidable force, had now become an ally—a powerful alliance that would shape the future of both our companies for years to come. It was almost enough to get me through my bad day, knowing that a certain group of people knew what they wanted. Walking into my office, I was greeted by the sight of Jules, my younger sister, sitted confidently in my chair, a mischievous grin adorning her face. She had always possessed an uncanny ability to make herself at home wherever she pleased. I couldn't help but chuckle at her audacity. "Well, well, little sis, it seems you've taken over my domain," I remarked, amusement lacing my voice. Jules raised an eyebrow playfully. "Someone had to keep your seat warm while you were off conquering the business world," she quipped, a hint of teasing in her tone. I settled into the chair next to her, glad to have her presence amidst the whirlwind of corporate responsibilities. Jules was not only my sister but also my best friend after Michael. She understood me in ways that few others did, offering unwavering support and a listening ear whenever I needed it. Leaning back, I sighed and shared the details of the successful meeting with the De Luca empire. Jules listened attentively, her eyes shining with pride. She knew the countless hours I had dedicated to preparing for this moment, and her unwavering belief in me had been a constant source of strength. As I finished recounting the intricacies of the negotiation, Jules beamed with enthusiasm. "I always knew you had it in you, bro," she declared, her voice filled with genuine admiration. "You've come so far, and I couldn't be prouder of you." A surge of gratitude washed over me. Jules had been my confidante, my pillar of support, throughout the highs and lows of my career. Her unwavering faith in me had been a beacon of light during moments of self-doubt, reminding me of my worth and capabilities. With a gentle smile, I reached out and squeezed her hand. "Thank you, Jules," I murmured, my voice filled with genuine appreciation. "Your belief in me means the world. I couldn't have achieved this without you and Michael by my side." We shared a moment of quiet understanding, the unspoken bond of sibling love and friendship enveloping us. In Jules, I had found an ally who not only understood the intricacies of my professional journey but also celebrated my successes as if they were her own. As we prepared to embark on the next phase of our endeavors, I knew that with Jules by my side, I would continue to face the challenges and triumphs of the business world with renewed vigor. Together, we were a force to be reckoned with—a formidable duo that thrived on mutual support and shared aspirations. Feeling invigorated and inspired, I glanced at Jules, my partner in both business and life, and grinned. "Alright, little sis, time for us to conquer new horizons," I declared, the determination evident in my voice. Jules chuckled, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "You bet. Let's show the world what we're made of." With that shared enthusiasm and unyielding bond, we turned our attention to the future, ready to face whatever challenges and adventures awaited us, knowing that together, we were unstoppable.
