Lexie was shaking.
She stood, looking from Varden, to the woman who she recognized almost instantly, feeling confused and hoping with everything in her, that she had not heard what she thought she had heard. She had been walking with Bella who had been arguing and pleading with her to talk to Varden about the pregnancy immediately they got back home. Only to run into whatever it was, that was before her.
Varden had his hand on the woman’s arm, while the woman had hers on his shoulders, looking at him suggestively. That is, until she had come into the picture. Varden had removed his hand, while the woman still had hers on him and turned to Lexie its a snide look. “And who are you, to ask such a question? Can’t you see we are talking here?” The woman hissed, tightening her hold on Varden.
