CHAPTER THREE Sunday morning, Jeffrey peered out his bedroom window to see a new snowfall. He marveled at how it sparkled in the sunlight. Before anyone stepped on it, it glistened like millions of diamonds. After being crushed, the beauty disappeared. And it turned brown and ugly. Mom would want him to shovel the driveway. That was better than having the snow crunched under the car. It got slippery and Mom might fall. Since Mom wasn’t up, he put on a warm jacket and got a shovel from the garage.
