A Vampire’s fragile human mate.

The beginning

Nova, is an 18-year-old rich girl who has lived her life alone in the large villa her father calls a home, but which he is rarely in. That's because he is one of the highest in the vampire council he is an older one and that means he is always on some side of business trip. Her mother died during an attack when she was 2 years old, she had been protecting her and didn't see the person that came from behind. She didn't blame herself for her death, nor did she remember much about her. But she really missed a female role model, someone to talk to when she has a problem, or just needs a motherly hug. Well, there nothing to be done about it now. After the death of his beloved wife, and the fact that someone was out to get them, her father decided to move them far away from everyone, too a small town named Blackwood Springs with mostly humans. She has been missing a real friend all her life and the only positive thing in her life is her crush on Damon, one of her dad's lifeguard. It started when she was 15 years old, her dad had left for one of his many business trips and had decided that Damon, who was one of his best and most loyal guards, should stay and look after her. Little did he know that feelings would arise between them in the coming years. It all started when she had a little accident and had cut herself with a knife when she tried to open a box. The cut was so deep Damon had let her feed on him to get the strength to heal faster so it didn't leave a scar. He had been her prince in shining armour ever since. 

They have never done anything more with their feelings, other than that they are most comfortable in each other's company and he can quickly stroke her cheek, ruffle her hair or give her a comforting hug if she needs it. Damon has too much respect for her father, so he doesn't want to cross the line, but that doesn't stop him from being in her presence more often for his part than for the job. Therefore, he has had his position changed to be her bodyguard instead of his. Something the father saw as a brilliant idea, his best man looking after his princess when he is away and she is left all alone in the big house.

When Nova finally makes a friend, Bella, a girl the same age. The only problem is that she is the daughter of the maid, the human maid. Despite their differs they end up being best friends right away, while everyone in the house keeps their true nature hidden from them. They live among humans and try to live as "normally" as possible as far as they know, if they had found out what they really were it would have been a mess, both in their world and in the human part of the world. 

Nova and Bella do everything together and I mean everything. Bella is also the daughter of a policeman so they have to be extra careful, not just because of the secret but being a policeman daughter is not the most ideal position when you are a teen and wants to have fun. But he likes the idea of them always have a bodyguard by their side, so he gives them a little slack. They go out to parties, spends their holidays together, everything young people their age tend to do. The only difference is that everyone that Bella hangs out with in the Villa is something completely different from what she thinks.

Bella had been living a normal life before Blackwood Spring or normal enough, she never really felt like she fitted in anywhere. No matter what she tried she always felt like an outcast. And when her father got a new job in a town called Blackwood Spring, she thought it would be the end of the world. What if she had it even worst at the new place. What if this right now was as good as it would get? She didn't have friends but she didn't get bullied either, what if she got bullied for being the weird kid, or the policemen daughter they had to stay away from so they didn't get into trouble. If it wasn't for her mom asking her to help her at her new job before school started, she probably would have had a terrible time. Well we will never know for sure. Because she had joined her mom at her new job and there she had met Nova. And to their surprise and joy they clicked right away, and have been inseparable ever since. 

In the months fallowing Bella had been staying constantly in the Villa, but she hadn't even once met Mr. Cheville Nova's father. She knew he existed but nothing more than that. But what she had seen was the way Nova and Damon has been staring at each other when they think no one is watching. And she tries to encourage her friend to try to confess her feeling for him. But Nova doesn't believe that he likes her back and believes he only sees her as a little girl. He can't be more than 20, can he? maybe a little older. what is the worst that can happened? But no matter what she does or say, Nova dosen't want to believe her. So Bella has been trying to set them up behind their backs. Nothing big. Just situations where he has to stay close to her, protect her, make him jealous when they go out partying in very tiny clothes. No reaction yet. But it is only a question of time, sooner or later something must happen. She know's he has a job to do, but would he really just sit and watch her flirting or making out with other guys before him? In that case is either the best employee ever or the most stupid one.
