CHAPTER 2: MOVING OUT

It was 10am in the morning, Joel was staring at the ceiling, he seemed lost in his thoughts and barely blinked his eyes.

Joel was the only child of his parents. His dad died when he was just 3 years old, and his mom took up the responsibility of being both his dad and his mom. Joel feels so connected to his mom and told her everything that's going on with him. He was so comfortable with her, that he told her about his first s*x experience, unlike what most guys would do.

A month ago, he went to his friend's place so they could hang out at their normal spot. The door was slightly opened and he decided to go in cause his friend David, never leaves his door opened. Joel sensed something was wrong, he walked quietly to David's room. He was about going in when he heard voices.

He opened the door slightly and peeped through the open space, and he saw a familiar face. It was Betty, his girlfriend.

Joel was completely still like a tree whose roots were deep in the ground.

Betty had always tried to convince Joel that she loved him. Joel knew Betty was just dating him for his looks. She tried her best to convince Joel and he eventually fell for it. Of course Betty was just using him to show off to her friends.

Joel couldn't believe that the girl who tried so hard to make him fall for her,was under his friend.

Joel was still staring at the ceiling lost in his thoughts, when he traced his eyes to the wall and spotted a note he had pined on it. He stood up and moved closer to the wall. He took the note and smiled.

The note contained the list of things he would like to do, but he never did any of them. He looked at the first thing on his list, and said to himself loudly "maybe it's time to explore anyways".

He took his phone and checked some stuff, he then sat back at his bed and looked around. Time to move out, he finally said after staring at the room for 5 minutes.
