Blood shot up to my veins and so did adrenaline. Why did she call me sounding like that? Was she in trouble?
I thought everything, as I took my coat and walked out of the office, informing Lilan that I'm done for today. No thought didn't cross my mind, and it increased the urgency in me to get to her as fast as I could.
"Xavier. Where are you going?" I heard Diana's voice from behind me. f**k, so close to leaving here.
"Somewhere. And I'm already late, so be fast with whatever it is you want" I told her, not bothering to hide the irritation in my voice.
