ALEX had already prepared breakfast when I came down to the kitchen the next morning. I wasn’t able to sleep right away last night. When I laid down in bed, I sent multiple messages to Julian asking if we could talk. When he hasn’t responded, I tried calling him but he wasn’t answering. He must have turned off his phone eventually because it wasn’t ringing anymore on the last few times that I tried.
I got less than three hours of sleep and honestly, I didn’t want to get up yet. I just remembered I have Alex in the house and I don’t want to spoil her visit by just sleeping the whole day. Alex was surprised when she saw me.
Alex: “What happened to you? You look like you’ve barely slept. Did Julian keep you up all night?”
Alex was smiling teasingly at me while she said that.
