I could see her hands clenched at her sides, then Jasper stepped closer and cut off the sentence I was about to say.
He offered to walk me out to the car with him. On the way, he kept talking about JD’s strengths, which I already knew, of course.
“Mr. Le Roux, may I ask your opinion on JD?” Jasper asked with a hesitant expression, but I knew he was actually trying to boast.
If I said I wasn’t interested in partnering with his company, he would surely get defensive and spout the same nonsense as he did back then.
“JD is a promising; large company, in my opinion. I might be interested in establishing a partnership with you.”
