Xesha’s POV
“Thank you, Mr. Le Roux. You’ve helped me out once again. I don’t know how I can ever repay you,” I said as we arrived in the basement. “I’ve already called a taxi, and it should be here any minute. You must be pretty busy.”
“Get in the car,” he said without responding to my previous words. “I’ll drive you to the station.”
“H-how did you know I was—”
“You said back then that you were going back to Philadelphia and become unemployed.”
“Really?” Did I actually say that? Or was it just a slip of the tongue? “But... you seem to be in a hurry too. I’m totally fine.”
“Mr. Le Roux is in a hurry to pick you up, Miss Foxx. He even postponed his departure for Philadelphia an hour ago just to pick you up,” Edward Dunn interjected, making my heart skip a beat.
