Jasper’s POV
Where is she? I lost sight of them after they turned the sharp corner. Helena and Mom’s chatter distracted me, so I wasn’t paying attention to where the car was going, and now I’ve lost track of them.
Damn it!
“Jasper, what are you doing? Helena’s pregnant and you’re driving recklessly. What if something happens to my future grandchild, huh?” Mom’s nagging sounded more and more like the annoying buzz of a bee in my ears.
I waved my hand, but she just kept on yapping.
“Now you’re being disrespectful to your mother just because of that good-for-nothing woman.”
“Hold on, Mom! Can you let me think clearly for a moment? You just said I had to make sure Xesha was really cheating, right? I’m doing that, so stop nagging for a second, okay?”
