Yesterday, I barely managed to escape Olivia’s soft eyes when I lied to her again. The guilt pressed down on my chest as I lay flat in bed . The mattress under me felt saggy in the middle like the way my face was when she believed me. She had been my best friend for many years, yet it was funny how I never let her come to my house . Not because our house didn’t have a fancy bed, or an AC that cooled the whole room. It wasn’t that. I couldn’t tell her I came from a broken home, where my parents fought with each passing day.
