Zane jammed the rapidly degrading shadow-spike downward, into the polished marble floor precisely where the right-flanking Seraphim was about to step. The paladin’s heavy, armoured boot struck the slick, solidified shadow. Deprived of friction, the Seraphim’s momentum betrayed it. The towering guard slipped violently, its synchronized strike collapsing into a chaotic, flailing stumble. Zane ignored the fallen guard, then pivoted to face the left-flanking Seraphim. The paladin brought its halberd down in a crushing vertical chop. This time, Zane caught the haft of the weapon with his bare left hand.
