Elijah I hated having to bring Ariella back to the castle. I hated having to let go of her hand, watching her step ahead of me as the castle guards waited for her at the flight field. I hated this place. For a place I was told I'd lived and served all my life, I felt nothing for it. Nothing for the King who called himself my friend, a title he still claimed after he forbade me from touching my own mate, used her like a bargaining chip to keep the obedience of me and my dragon in check. I had pushed the limits last night, not only taking her out of the barracks, but touching her - I couldn't stop myself.
