Warrick
I sat with Sebastian in the dark of the Silver Moon office, his leg bouncing in irritation as the only noise filling the large space was our low breathing and the ticking of the grandfather clock in the corner of the room.
It had taken him almost an hour to fully calm down, though I didn’t blame him – we’d known since we were teenagers that Ariella was our, even her adoptive brothers knew.
But she was an Omega, rare and valued among the Silver Moon royals of Homeworld and laws were placed on our Pack, reaching even here to Otherworld – they were off limits, only to be touched by her mate.
It had been almost maddening when she’d been in my arms, but seeing her ‘bedroom’ had sent a fire in my veins, a hatred for myself for never realising it hadn’t been altered to suit a student. They’d just jammed her in there, uncaring and her furnishings were abysmal.
We’d change that.
A smirk tugged at my lips, having bumped into Heath after he’d apparently shattered her bed by sitting on it. He had a nervous smile, thanking me for leaving that damn necklace he’d made for her - knowing it’d burn a hole in his pocket until she accepted or rejected us, or it fell out – though, he had mind linked me to say he’d be at this meeting after she fell asleep.
I extend my senses through the Packhouse and finding Heath and Ari still together, though given it was nearly two am and the mental link we shared as brothers was silent, I assumed they were both fast asleep.
How very Heath. I chuckled to myself, knowing he probably didn’t even try and kiss our mate – he was always the gentleman.
Seb leaned back in the overstuffed chair, tugging a hand through his dark hair that matched my own and growled, drawing my attention.
“Where is he?” He clipped, glancing over his shoulder at the door of the office.
I frowned, glancing at the clock – 2:04am. A hum of annoyance leaving me. “He is late isn’t he,” I noted, a flash of anger going through me.
Before I could reply, there was a soft knock at the door, Seb and I looking to it.
That’d be him. Seb snarled mentally, his hands clutching the armrests of his chair, talons extending and slicing the dark leather as he rose to his feet, swallowing the distance and threw open the door.
“Alphas, I’m so-” The short man on the other side barely choked out his apology before Seb grabbed him, yanking the man off his feet and pulled him into the room.
“Sebastian,” I sighed, my voice hinting I disagreed with my brother’s actions, though I made no move to stop him as he dumped the small man into the chair across from me.
He was a dumpy man, with a receding hairline, thick rimmed glasses and barely looked like he was a Delta for Black Wing – the Pack in charge of student housing and maintenance.
Shame for him, Silver Moon was charge with dealing with student handling and punishments.
“You’re late,” Seb clipped at him, the Delta trembling slightly at the steel in his voice.
“S-Sorry,” he stammered, “Alpha Ryker wanted to speak to-”
Seb cut him off with a hard noise, caught between a snarl and a scoff. “I’ll deal with him later,” he growled, the darkness rising around him again, my brows narrowing.
Seb’s scent had covered Ariella by the time we’d found her in his room, injured – Seb hadn’t told us who attacked her. It made sense if it was Ryker. He was an asshole who’d made his opinion of Omega’s known, even if his mother had been one of the unfortunate ones. Though, if I was honest, I didn’t have a very high opinion of the entire Pack, not after having seen firsthand that it came from their origins.
I shook my head of the dark thoughts, pushing them aside to deal with the issue at hand.
I cleared my throat, drawing their attention to me. “Dwight, right?” I asked, keeping my voice casual, but letting my aura slip.
He nodded, his glasses almost falling off from the feverish action, the scent of fear filling the room.
I flashed him a toothy grin that made him shudder, moving the folder I’d prepared across my desk and held it out to him. “This is the official warning on Black Wing,” I said, Dwight moving quickly with disbelief as he took the folder and flicked it open, seeing the red letters, signed by the college Alpha, our father.
He scanned the documents, his dark brown eyes narrowing as he read, his eyes snapping to Seb and I in bewilderment.
My grin turned cold, the room filling with a heavy weight as Seb and I unleashed our auras together, my voice came out low and dangerous. “You have twenty-four hours to correct student Ariella Dawson’s housing, failure to result in an adequate room for her will result in punishment,” I warned, rising to rest my closed fist on the wooden desk that separated us.
It wasn’t much, but it was a start to making things right with my little wolf.
Dwight stammered, his head nearly spinning as he looked between Seb and me, “Dawson?” He asked, looking back at the paperwork, seeing Ariella’s rank. “T-The Omega?” A look of disgust formed on his face, looking up at me.
Seb crossed his arms over his broad chest, stretching the fabric of his grey shirt. “Watch it,” Seb snarled in warning, his anger rising like a physical force in the room.
Dwight flinched, ducking his eyes and hiding his expression as best he could, fear seeping from him like a stench. "Twenty-four hours isn’t-”
I growled, cutting him off, “I don’t care – she's not living in a f*****g closet! Fix it or I’ll hold you personally responsible.” I snapped, canines extending with my rage at the thought of Ariella’s cramped room she’d lived in for three years – I knew the room was small, but...
You let it happen. A voice inside of me scolded, a pit of regret stabbing into my heart.
“Get out!” I commanded suddenly, Dwight not hesitating as he scrambled from the room, the door closing loudly.
Seb stayed quiet while I dipped my head, shame and anger mixing inside of me like poison, falling back into my chair and sighed.
“You good?” Seb asked after a few more minutes, glancing at the grandfather clock when I nodded absently. “Good,” he said, his tone lightening and I raised my head, seeing a smartass smirk spreading on his lips. “So, you want to recall the twins, or can I do it?”
I almost paled at the thought. Jackson and his brother Elijah, Ariella’s adoptive brothers and our chosen Betas for the Pack when we took over next summer, were away looking into reports of unsanctioned Homeworld portals in the human town an hour away.
It had honestly been an excuse for them to be away from Ariella’s birthday, knowing the twins would have kept her away from us, even if it was for their own selfish desires for the same woman.
Their work was important, but it didn’t honestly require them being away from campus for two days. Thinking about Ariella finding out we’d done such a thing, I found myself digging out my phone and finding Jack’s number, ignoring Seb’s disappointed frown as I hit call.
It rang three times before Jack answered, “What do you want, asshole?” He grunted, groggy and annoyed. I heard Eli in the background, groaning at his brother to shut up.
I chuckled low in my throat, I leaned back in my chair, a grin I knew he could hear, spreading. “Come home, dumbasses-”
Jack hung up before I’d finished, another chuckle leaving me as I looked up at Seb, seeing he was going to leave, a dark energy radiating of him like a storm.
“Hey,” I called, making him stop and glance at me over his shoulder, his eyes black and his mind shielded from me. I narrowed my eyes at my younger brother, my aura stronger than his given I was the eldest of the three, and let it press against him.
“Tell me how Ari got hurt.” I commanded, Seb’s fists clenching at my words, but he turned back to me and took a seat.
Chapter 5-1
Ariella
I woke up just after dawn, finding Heath had gone; I assumed it was for Alpha combat training that ran from dawn until seven am every morning.
I got dressed, keeping Sebastian's jumper over my singlet and shorts, finding a need to be around his scent.
The look of sadness and guilt in his eyes had plagued my dreams, my Wolf sobbing that we hadn't consoled him.
The truth was, of all of them, Sebastian had been the one I wanted to cuddle last night. I decided I'd go find him. I couldn't stand the thought of him thinking I was mad or upset...or scared.
I grabbed my book bag and opened my door, almost falling backwards in surprise.
Sebastian was leaning against the wall, two to-go cups in his hands and his head down in thought. He lifted it when he heard me, a small smile spreading across my face at the sight of him.
He smiled back, relief in his eyes and his shoulders lost the tension he'd had a moment ago.
He held out one of the cups, and my heart skipped a beat.
"Morning, Ella," he said, his voice low and gentle. "I didn't know if you liked coffee, so I got you a hot chocolate."
I took the mug, feeling a sense of surprise. "Thank you...I hate coffee."
He chuckled softly, taking a sip from his drink. "I probably wouldn't survive without it," he looked like he hadn't slept.
A pit of guilt formed. "Are you...okay?"
He nodded and pushed off the wall, his eyes serious. "I wanted to apologise for yesterday. I shouldn't have lost control like that."
I shrugged, taking a sip of the hot chocolate. "It's okay. I understand." And honestly, I did. Seeing his smile, smelling him so close.
I had to hold my drink with both hands to try to keep them to myself. If females marked their mates, I'd have probably already sunk my teeth in a few times.
Sebastian's face lit up with a smile, his eyes scanning over my appearance as if I was a precious artwork, stopping at the jumper.
"Is that-"
I panicked. "I can give it back!" I said quickly.
He chuckled, shaking his head. "No, keep it." I smiled at him, my heart racing but I relaxed, taking a small step closer to his scent.
He tilted his head at me, a smile on his lips. "I was worried I'd freaked you out so much, I'd lost my chance." He shrugged them. "Not that I expect to have much of one after everything we did."
His honesty touched me.
I shook my head, a small teasing smile rising. "You're in third place, but still in this race."
He smiled, beamingly and my breath caught at the sight. "Let's see if I can't make it back to gold," he winked, making me giggle, his eyes darkening but he controlled the urge I saw in him. "Join me for breakfast before class? Just the two of us?"
My heart fluttered at the suggestion. Breakfast with Sebastian? It sounded like a date.
"Okay," I said, trying to sound casual. "That sounds nice."
Sebastian's smile grew wider, and he offered me his arm "Great. Come on, baby."
I took it, suppressing another giggle, feeling a sense of excitement.
I'd told Heath I'd give them a chance, so far, they'd yet to make me consider they didn't want me since finding out I was their mate.
Only my own fear I'm not.... enough.
We walked through campus, Sebastian leading me off it and to a large SUV.
I slowed, raising a brow at him. "You said breakfast...this looks like a kidnapping." I narrowed my eyes at him playfully.
A mischievous grin crossed his face and he stood over me. "It can't be both?" He dipped suddenly, making me squeak as he tossed me over his shoulder.
"Seb!" I squealed, fisting the back of his grey shirt as he laughed, his hands locked on my thighs, striding for his car.
"Nice to hear you use my name, little wolf." He opened the passenger door and placed me in gently, buckling the belt across me.
I blushed when his hands grazed across my breasts, a smirk on his lips as he saw me squirm and smelt my flare of arousal.
He leaned in and kissed my cheek, dashing to the driver's side and climbed in before I could react.
He chuckled at my stunned expression. "I'm at least higher than War, right?"
I shrugged. "I'll decide after my hostage negotiations are through."
He laughed at that, reaching out and took my hand, pulling it to his lips and kissing my knuckles. "You're a tease."
I grinned at him, a small bubble of happiness forming.
I found myself still smiling after breakfast with Sebastian, even if he'd made me a few minutes late to class.
He'd taken me to a little beachside cafe in the human town nearby; we got caught up talking and laughing; we hadn't realised how long we'd been there.
He'd been surprisingly sweet and not at all the hands-on hound dog I half expected. A part of me was almost a little disappointed he hadn't even tried to kiss me, other than on the cheek or hand.
“Miss Dawson?” The voice of Morton growling snapped me out of my dreamy haze, my eyes locking with his black ones as he gritted his teeth at me.
Glancing around the room, filled with mostly Grey Fang and Black Wing Pack members, then at the board behind the stout man that held information on Lunar Madness. “Uh,” I stammered, unsure what he’d even been saying, or the question he’d clearly asked me.
The girl sitting beside me, a Delta of Golden Dawn, coughed, making me jump when I heard her mutter, “Contra-indictors. Physical.”
I blinked at her, surprised but realised she was helping me, thinking quickly as I looked at Professor Morton, “Illness or injury, pregnancy or heat and old age.” I answered quickly, seeing annoyance flash in his as he ground his teeth together, saying nothing for a moment before continuing with the lecture.
I stole a glance at brunette She-Wolf beside me, knowing her name was Abigail, and giving her a small smile. “Thanks,” I muttered in a low voice, my eyes on Morton as he paced the room, scanning like a vulture looking for weakness it could pray on.
The brunette gave me a smile, “Don’t mention it, Luna,” she said, her voice teasing before turning back to focus on the class while I stared at her in shock.
H-Had they told people already? I thought wildly, Abigail catching my expression and hiding her laughter behind another cough, Morton scowling at her suspiciously.
She flashed him an innocent grin, waiting until he turned away before leaning towards me. “You smell like Alpha Heath and Sebastian,” she chuckled quietly, “No She-Wolf ever has that combo.” She winked, waving me off while I felt my face turn beet red and I sunk into my seat.
After class, and ignoring the whining of my Wolf, I headed to the library before I had lunch planned with Beta Zane on campus for my birthday.
Berta was in her usual spot, giving me a kind smile when I passed her, seeing her sniff the air slightly, her brows rising at the smell mixed with mine.
I blushed – again - resisting the urge to run away and kept my pace steady as I headed for the stairs, leading to the Lycan textbooks and historical writings.
It took me an hour to find the book I was looking for, Lunar Cycles Illnesses.
The topic seemed interesting, and I had an enjoyment for Werewolf particular medicine.
I found a spot in the corner of the library near one of the large supply closets, my Wolf pacing under my skin annoyingly, wanting me to seek out one or all of my mates.
She began to push thoughts through suggestions, and I could smell my own arousal, my core throbbing nearly painfully.
I collected my things, putting the books I'd taken out back and headed down the stairs.
I froze on the third floor, seeing five male Pack members from the Grey Fang Pack rising from their seats, moving towards me when my scent filed the air.
One of them was the future Beta.
They swallowed the distance between us in a few steps, my heart pounding in my chest at the dark shine in their eyes.
"Oh, look boys," the Beta sneered. "The unmated Omega...all by herself."
Two Deltas flanked me when I tried to step away, my heart slamming in my chest with fear.
"You know what that means? You're the campus toy," one on my left said, his voice dripping with entitlement. "Why don't you show us some love, huh?"
They grabbed my shoulders, their hands digging into violently and I winced, a small whimper of pain and fear leaving me.
Five high-ranking males against one Omega - it didn't matter how well I could defend myself; overwhelming numbers always win in this kind of fight.
Something inside of me twisted at the thought of them touching me and I gritted my teeth, deciding and saying a silent prayer before I threw my elbow back, hitting the Delta on my right in the throat, forcing him to release me and choked.
I dropped and spun, sending my fist into the one on the left crotch, and both stumbled back in pain, gasping for air.
I found an opening and tried to run.
A fistful of my hair was grabbed, making me cry out as tears sprang into my vision.
The Beta pulled me against his chest, snarling. "Get on your knees." He demanded.
I struggled, snarling and snapping back. "No!" I growled out, slamming the back of my head into the bridge of his nose and breaking it with ease, feeling cartilage and bone snap.
He tugged my hair and kicked the back of my legs out, dropping me painfully to one knee.
I clawed at his hand, trying to break his hold as he glared at me through his bloodied face.
He glanced up the stairs, to the study table they’d been using, a cruel smile spreading.
He jerked his chin at it. "Hold her for me."
I flailed and fought as I was pulled to my feet by my hair, another scream leaving me. "No! Get off me!" I begged.
The Beta spun on the stairs, his hand striking across my cheek. I reacted and bit him, latching onto his hand and, like a dog, I shook.
He howled in agony, tearing his hand from my mouth and snarled violently.
I spat out the chunk of his flesh.
He grabbed my throat with his good hand, his eyes black with his Wolf's rage. "You're going to pay for that, bitch." He snarled. Panic rose in me as his canines bared, his eyes fixed on my throat as he moved his hand to expose the side of it. Tears started to flow as I struggled.
He was going to mark me!
A voice stopped him dead in his tracks. "I don't think so."
All of our heads snapped at the low and deadly unmistakable voice of an Alpha.
My Wolf howled, tears turning to fall in relief as I saw Heath at the bottom of the stairs.
They snickered suddenly - an exchange of disbelief on their faces.
Heath wasn't the violent one out of his brothers. I don't think he'd even been seen in a fight outside of the sparring ring.
"Oh... it's you, sweet-boy," the one who held my hair mocked. "We're f*****g terrified."
Heath suddenly smiled. It was cruel as he gazed at me, his eyes softening for a moment before hardening again. "I'm only sweet to my girl," he said, his voice dripping with possessiveness. "And someone made her cry."
The atmosphere shifted, and the air charged with tension.
The Beta I bit stepped away from me, glaring at Heath. "You're claiming the Omega as an Alpha's toy?"
Heath set him with a glare so deadly, I'm surprised the Beta didn't s**t himself.
"You dare call an Alpha's mate, a toy?" His voice was still low, ice shooting through my veins in fear.
I'd never seen him so angry.
The Beta seemed to realise Heath was on edge; the air was thick with the weight of an Alpha's aura, and it was almost suffocating.
"Release her," he gritted.
I was placed down, and my body was released.
The moment I was free, I ran to Heath sobbing.
He caught me, glaring at them as he hugged me, his hand moving across my back.
"You have three seconds to leave my sight before I kill you all." He snarled, squeezing me gently when I shook at the venom in his voice.
Air moved around us, the scent of fear that wasn't mine coating it.
"Hey, baby," Heath whispered after a moment, nuzzling into my hair. "Are you okay?"
I nodded. "Thank you," I whispered back, inhaling his scent to calm my destroyed nerves.
"Come on, your room is being fixed, but you can stay in one of ours for now." He picked me up, his voice leaving no room for argument.
I wanted nothing more than to just curl up with Heath again, but curiosity bit at me and I frowned slightly. “Why is my room being fixed?” I asked, raising an eyebrow at him, partly teasing.
He shrugged, giving me a small smirk that was filled with mischief and secrets. “It’s a surprise.” He said simply, resting his forehead against mine and bounced me slightly, making me giggle.
He grinned at the noise, looking over my face and chuckled, resting his head against mine again and I settled into his arms as he walked across the campus.
I fell asleep on him, something I seemed to do a lot on them, waking to the soft bedding and smell of hazelnuts.
My face was cleaned of blood and it felt like...someone had brushed my teeth.
I blinked, sitting up and saw I was in Warrick's room, looking around.
The bathroom door opened and Warrick stepped out, a towel around his neck and sweatpants hanging low on his hips.
His muscles rippled and moved as he dried his hair, faltering for a moment when he saw me awake.
There was a flash of something on his face, before the calm mask he always wore slipped into place. "How are you feeling, little wolf?" He asked softly, throwing his towel into the laundry basket and padding towards me.
My words were caught in my throat, my eyes unable to stop looking at the Greek God of a man who walked towards me.
His hair was pushed back off his hair, almost blue in the light. A soft shadow lined his jaw and lips, making his green eyes seem even brighter against his tanned skin.
Broad shoulders, strong chest, rippling six-pack and an Adonis belt I wanted to run my tongue across that led to thick legs of powerful muscles.
A teasing smile crossed his lips, making me realise I'd just stared at him the entire time, my mouth hanging open, and I was probably drooling.
I blushed, fixing my face and went to duck my eyes. His hand caught my chin, chuckling softly as he lifted my head back up, finding he was bent to meet my eyes.
"You didn't answer me, sweetie." He purred at me, his hot breath hitting my skin and his scent sent a shudder through me.
I said the only thing I was able to feel while he was this close.
"Horny," I admitted in a whine.
His eyes flared black at my words, his lips suddenly on mine, ravaging my lips and pushing me back into the bed, covering my body with his.
His tongue glided across my bottom lip, asking for permission I gave him willingly.
His tongue battled mine, his hands moving over my body, squeezing and feeling my skin.
I moaned into his mouth, my hands tangling into his hair and pulling him closer as if I could merge our bodies, our souls.
His hand moved across the waistband of my pants, my stomach swirling and my thighs tightened around his waist as he slipped into my shorts and underwear.
He growled, feeling the pool of arousal he'd caused. "f**k, little wolf." He breathed, pulling away from my lips to smirk down at me. "Is this all for me?"
I bit my lip, finding myself nodding.
His low chuckle made me shudder, his hand swirling against my soaking flesh and I cried out, feeling a finger slip into me.
He moved teasingly slow, stretching and dragging and swirling, making me pant and whine within seconds.
"I can stop...if this is too much." He groaned out, watching as my hips matched his rhythm.
I looked up at him, whining and shook my head.
Another finger stretched me and he stroked a spot, my breath catching and my hands gripped into his hair, our foreheads pressed together as my stomach tightened.
He kissed me again, covering my moans with his mouth as he moved his hand faster, starting to f**k me with his fingers and rubbing the spot that had me seeing stars.
He felt me tightening around him. "Scream my name, little wolf." He commanded, his voice thick against my mouth.
My orgasm suddenly unraveled, my lips pulling away from his as my cry of pleasure filled the room. "Warrick!" I moaned, hearing his approving growl as he eased me down from my high before pulling his fingers from me, kissing my cheek, jaw and neck as I shuddered.
"You came so quick for me," he chuckled, raising off me just enough, his erection pressed against my stomach.
I blushed, my eyes heavy and my body felt like mashed potatoes, seeing him lick my wetness from his fingers, smirking at me.
He chuckled again, bundling me in his arms, then pulling me against him as he lay in the bed next to me.
"W-what're you doing?" I asked as he grabbed my arm and rolled me, resting my head against his chest.
He cupped the back of my head, his other arm wrapped under me and hugging me. "Cuddling with my mate after pleasuring her," he muttered against my hair.
"Oh," I blushed again, burying my face into his chest, his chest rumbling with another chuckle.
He kissed the top of my head.
"I'm going to fall asleep," I warned, my voice muffled by his chest.
I felt him shrug. "Makes two of us." He said simply, nuzzling into my hair and kissing my temple.
I giggled softly against him, a thought coming to mind. "Where's Heath?"
I felt him tense slightly under me, his hands tightening on me possessively. "Meeting with our father to handle the Grey Fang Pack." He said softly, his voice edged with anger, holding me possessively but gentle.
“I’m sorry-”
“Don’t” he urged, cutting me off and tucking me in closer. "We should have dealt with it the moment Ryker attacked you, I’m sorry I wasn’t there to protect you.” He kissed the top of my head, his voice rough with emotion that tugged at my heart.
I shook my head against him. “I’m okay,” I promised in a whisper, feeling myself relaxing into his arms.
He hummed, not convinced.
My hands bundled into his shirt. "Thank you," I whispered, adding after a moment of thinking. "Maybe we can make this work."
He hugged me. "I hope so," he whispered. "I don't plan on letting you go, little wolf. Never have."
My heart fluttered at his words, my hold on him tightening.
I fell asleep within a few seconds of his hands tracing lazy patterns across my body.
